The glitter town is murmuring with talks about Shahrukh Khan starring in Rakesh Roshan’s Krrish 2. It is learned that bollywood’s King Khan and Hrithik Roshan will allocate screen space jointly in the sequel to bollywood’s super hit scientific fiction Krrish which in itself is a sequel to Koi Mil Gaya.
-

- Grapevine says that Shahrukh Khan gave his approval as soon as he was on hand a role by Rakesh Roshan over phone without even probing about the movie nor his role. It was only after he received a text message on his phone from Hrithik Roshan that he realised he had just accepted the role of a superhero in Krrish 2.
- Rumours from a different source says that Shah Rukh Khan will be playing an alien in human form (Kroadh), who cannot be killed. He will initially fight against Hrithik but at the time of the final battle will fight from the same side of Hrithik against the bad.
- DEEPIKA PADUKONE Is also there!

- The early flowering tulips….:
- Shah Rukh was enrolled in The St Columba’s School,in kindergarten in January 1972 at the age of six. It is an impressive institution spread over numerous acres of land in the heart of Delhi. Founded by the Indian Province of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, it was started on April 29, 1941 with 32 boys enrolled. The school’s status grew with its size. By 1955, the students numbered 2200, and a new building had been added.

- The demureness of the school:
- The Irish Brothers were well-known for discipline and punishment. Up to the late 1980s, corporal punishment was used at St Columba’s. Minor children were striked on buttocks. Older ones were caned on their backsides — a few whacks meant sitting on a sweater or bag all day to pad the cuts. And the eldest boys were rapped on their knuckles and fingertips. On cold winter days, the canes connecting with frozen fingertips caused on the spot blisters. The Brothers hid canes in their robes. If a rule was wrecked, penalty was instantaneous and excruciating.

- His visits to the hair-dresser:
- The school insisted on snappy nails and tiny hair. Anybody with hair over the chosen length was sent from school to the barber on the sidewalk at the nearby Gole Market. Shah Rukh, blessed with a intense, disorderly wash made this spree frequently. It was seven-thirty A.M and the barber had usually just woken up. He had morning breath and eyes full of sleep but he began the haircut with the same question, ‘What style haircut do you want, Dharmendra or Amitabh Bachchan?’ Years later, Shah Rukh knew he had attained celebrity when hair stylists told him that clientele were asking for the Shah Rukh Khan cut.
- His noutankis:
- Hindi gaalis or curse words bombarded his verbal communication. Fights were not infrequent. Shah Rukh saw knives pulled and blood pour. The image of cane-carrying priests and the prolonged schedule of rules at St Columba’s didn’t dissuade Shah Rukh. He was a master prankster. His best tricks were humorous, overconfident and generally put his burgeoning amateur dramatics aptitude to use. In the ninth grade, he hired an Amitabh Bachchan line from a film called Kaalia to persuade a teacher that his parents and the school administration neglected him.
- The teacher, his saviour:
- The teacher was his solitary unsubstantiated encouragement. Considering this and his tantalizing analytical rank, he told her, she should allow him to leave out some forthcoming tests. ‘Mere liye toh oopar bhagwan hai, neeche aap. Beech mein Yamraj talwar le kar vaar kar raha hai,’ he said. ‘For me, God is above and you below. In between, Yamraj, the Lord of Death, is attacking me with his sword.’ The repercussion being that the teacher was the only one who could save him from devastation. She bought it and endorsed him to overlook the tests.
- Fun with Teachers:
- Whenever they got a new teacher, he would play to have an epileptic fit. The students would pull off his shoes and would force him to walk bare feet. Everybody knew that Shah Rukh was playing consciously. He was really very asinine. He was awarded with the Sword of Honour by the school for all round development.
- His first crush:
- The primordial Church of Goldakhana is closest to the school and attached with its compound is the prominent Convent of Jesus and Mary.
- Gauri (now his spouse) used to study in that convent. It is learnt that they used to come by the same school bus. SRK had a crush on her. During a Christmas show, SRK showed Gauri his fondness to salsa with her. She agreed. Later on to meet her even during school hours SRK used to bunk classes and reached the girls convent to meet Gauri. The sharp Brothers of St Columbus caught SRK’s wayward playoffs and later built a huge compound barrier unscrambling the Convent of Jesus and Mary and St Columbus. Gauri’s parents later shifted her to the elite Modern School, Barakhamba Road.(Now Gauri is SRKs beloved wife).
- His school gang:
- In school there were four of them and called themselves the ‘C’ gang.
- As they were from the C-section. They are still friends and are married
- friends. Like he married Gauri who’s best friend is married to Vikas.
- He has never had more friends and close friends than these three-except
- perhaps, Chikki. Anyway, they were very cool, yanky gang, very American. They loved wearing Nike and they’d have a little spring in their walk, like the Americans and the blacks do.
- The good quality Khan:
- Shah Rukh would return home at nine every night, after taking part in elocution, exhibitions, or rehearsing. Later at night he would play Cricket under the street lamp. He would study at the last minute as he had a good memory.
- The arrogant Khan:
- At college he was quite lost as he came from a sophisticated school. But he was not an artificial guy with an accent like most guys from St. Columbus’s get. He admits that he learnt to be arrogant because of the ambience in school. He had it for 13 years in school. That amount of arrogance he says is excellent. Then that approach continued at Stephens College, Delhi, which he left after a year. He then joined Hansraj College, Delhi and after that he did Masters in Mass Communication from Jamiya Miliya Islamiya, in Delhi, but quit it in a year.
- Time has elapsed, he is a Star now:
- Now SRK is invited as a VVIP to the schools’ prominent and elevated profile shows, but he hardly ever attends those functions. Now only reminiscences are left. At the foyer of the school a big life size snap of King Khan is positioned as a chronicle of the legendry luminary.

- · The long running Star Plus serial Kasautti Zindagii Ki will come to an end in January 2008.

- · The show first ran into trouble when one of it’s lead stars Cezanne Khan quit. Moon, Geetanjali, and Urvashi followed and hence the show started losing viewers. Shewta Tiwari too also seemed to have lost interest in the show. She started taking up other assignments thus ignoring ‘KZK’.
- · Kasautti Zindagii Ki is on air for more than 5 years.
- The chemistry between Anurag and Prerna wooed the audience while the contender Komolika’s style became the talk of the town. Getting caught between Anurag and Mr. Bajaj, Prerna became the house hold name as she struggled to win all the kasautii in her life.
- After taking leap after leap, Kasautii Zindagi Kii, is now coming to an end.
- · January 14th episode will be the last show of the serial.
- The news has been confirmed by the GM and EVP (Star Plus) Keertan Adyanthaya who said “Yes, sometimes good things come to an end, but on Star Plus, they get better, we are going to come up with some great new programs, so keep watching this spaceâ€.
- Ronit Roy, who acquired recognition with the massively admired role of Mr. Bajaj said, “A great path breaking, life altering chapter of my life is coming to an end. But i guess all good things must also eventually come to and end. There is a certain amount of sadness that it is coming to an end, a certain amount of pride that I saw it till the very end, a certain amount of ‘Phew, Long Journey’, certain amount of curiosity, and anticipation of
“what nextâ€.

Mumbai: Hundreds of fans and onlookers who had been waiting for hours outside Sanjay Dutt’s residence at Pali Hill in Bandra burst firecrackers and distributed sweets on Thursday as the 48-year-old actor reportedly returned home after 22 days in Pune’s Yerawada Jail.
A happy but tired looking Dutt, dressed in a white kurta and trademark blue jeans, was quickly whisked inside by his friends and relatives.
Later, the famous actor came out and mingled with his fans, accepting bouquets, shaking hands and thanking them for the unfailing support and love.
Dutt had appealed for his sentence under the Arms Act to be set aside and for him to be released on probation - as well as filed for bail till the Court decided on his probation plea.
“A huge relief“
Given past records and the very long legal process, it will no doubt make quite some time for Dutt’s case to be heard on its merits - meanwhile the actor, as soon as formalities are complete, will walk free and then pursue his film career.
Dutt’s family were not present in court today; however, his battery of lawyers conveyed to them the news and everyone was extremely happy with this development. Subsequently Dutt’s sister Priya held a brief press conference in which she said, “Of course it is a relief for everyone who is in any way associated with Sanjay. We have gone through the last 13 years and followed every process of law, and had full faith in the law. And this the biggest gift that we have got in return today.“ Ms Priya added, “The battle is not over yet. We have to still face a lot and we will, and that will be the next leg of preparations. I want to thank the people of this country, everyone who has prayed so hard for him, the media which has been very supportive and God to top it all as He has given us our strength - my parents, who I know are around us and will always be around us.“

Dr.Kiran Bedi, IPS Officer is a role model to the women of substance:
- · According to Kiran Bedi , “My concept of a modern woman is a liberated woman. Educated or not, economically independent or not, such a woman is capable of taking her own decisions and standing by them, and-whether she suffers from them or not-she does not look for a shoulder to weep on.” Even so, she says, women “need more quality education and much more vocational training to become truly empowered.” Property ownership is another key to empowerment. “With ownership (or joint ownership),” she says, “a man cannot drink away the family’s property, or sell it and leave the woman and children on the street.· Accomplishing that goal has become the number one priority of the National Commission for Women in India, but the government continues to drag its feet. Political parties must come together in support of this program as well as in support of family planning and more equitable educational opportunities. If they do not, the next generation will not have enough schools, teachers, transportation, health care, housing, or work. Such a situation is a recipe for civil unrest.” For India as a whole, Kiran says, “the key to change lies in the empowerment of village women-the largest percentage of women in India-but change in rural areas is agonizingly slow in coming.”
· Empowerment is related to population. “India is a rich country and should be a beautifully developed country,” Kiran says. “If population had been controlled twenty years ago there would be surplus rather than scarcity, and current growth would not be held captive by the ever-present need to feed new mouths. Women must learn and be allowed to say, ‘No! I don’t want any more than this.’ When that day arrives, daughters will be seen to be as much of an asset as sons, because educated daughters will be as equally capable to take care of parents in their old age as sons. Therefore, economically empowered women are crucial in the struggle to shape a new India.”
· In 1994, backing up her commitment to support reform in several areas, Kiran created the India Vision Foundation, a registered nongovernmental organization designed to carry out projects in the fields of prison reform, drug abuse prevention, empowerment of women, assistance to the mentally disabled, and sports promotion.
· Kiran, who has lived most of her life in the public view, has become a role model for Indian women-the disadvantaged, the marginalized, and the voiceless. Many believe that she literally embodies the struggle for gender equality. She has constantly had to fight against the commonly accepted bias that she is, after all, only female. She has had to battle systems that codify the dehumanization of women, and cultures that are all too willing to toss the talents and potential contributions of women on the rubbish dump. Kiran’s “crimes” have included functioning as an equal, speaking the truth as she saw it, having and implementing original ideas, working hard, and garnering success. And her lack of interest in “playing the game,” within a service in which professionalism has been replaced by favouritism, has been costly both professionally and personally. Although she has realized her childhood dream to “count for something,” her path has not been easy or without the need for sacrifice.
· Even her achievements and awards for service fuel controversy. Some, in looking at her history, see a dedicated and successful officer. Others, generally from among the ranks of the privileged and powerful, see an uppity woman-a narcissistic, publicity-hungry, regulation-flaunting, self-serving, rogue officer who constantly needs to be kept in her place.
· There is no need to say anything specific about this great Indian,” says Gulzar, “She won the Magasaysay Award for her work among prisoners. She has shown what a police officer should be like to our country. She is an icon and a model for all Indian women. We are proud of her because of her many-splendour personality. Whichever function she graces, she adds enlightenment and humour to it. Hers is truly an awesome presence.”
· The first woman IPS officer of India was denied the post of the Commissioner of Police, Delhi. Known for her dedication, she changed the face of Tihar prison as IG, Prisons. She is known for her outstanding work as Police Advisor in the UN peacekeeping department.
· Kiran Bedi, New Delhi’s renowned Inspector General of Prisons, described her presence at Asia Plateau as `a pilgrimage fulfilled’. She had been the first woman recruited to the Indian Police Force, in the 1970s, and when supervisor of Asia’s largest prison, in New Delhi, had introduced Gandhian philosophy and practice. This had dramatically.
· Whatever the outcome, her commitment to family planning, prison reform, women’s emancipation, and education for independence will continue.
· As Kiran Bedi likes Anne Dresskell’s saying “If you look out to do something, it is always possible.”

Amul Star Voice of India

And the winner is……
· On 24th November, 2007, in a jam packed auditorium named, Andheri Sports complex, Mumbai a spectacular event was held to choose the First Amul Star Voice Of India (ASVOI) and the coveted trophy was won none other than the shy, Punjab da putar Ishmeet Singh Sodhi along with 3 yrs contract with Big music and a Chevorlet car.
· Throughout the show, the non-bias host of the show, Shan kept the spectators under invariable ambiguity as he was announcing the statistics in regard to both of the contestants from south, east and west zone and all Harshits’ fans were apparently rejoicing as they visualised Harshit as the apparent frontrunner. But Shan had indicated that the votes form Northern Zone would undeniably make the discrepancy.
· All the 10 besmisals gave a dazzling performance .Among the Bemisaal Baraah, Toshi has already sung for Salman Khan in an untitled film, Irfan has got chance in Mukesh Bhat’s film, Abhaas has worked with Aadesh Srivastav and has also sang a jingle and Sumitra Iyer has sung for Rima Sen in the film Mere Khwabo Mein Jo Aaye.
· The Jury award went to Abhaas . Abhilasha (Alka’s pet) won a special prize of a car given by some trust.
· The dazzling Madhuri Dixit, togged up in a peach shiffon sari with golden work walked up to the show to enhance the spirits of the two finalists. She later seated herself with her husband in the audience. Later Lata Mangeshkar graced the occasion to proclaim the conqueror of the show.
· Lataji rewarded diamond studded ‘swaralaya’ watches to both the contestants which is her brand label. She informed that the watches have been personally designed by her and her sister Usha with the melodious needles.
· Many starlets from the serials of Star Plus were present in the event to witness the show.
· Both Harshit and Ishmeet gave away performance solo and duet and also with Shan. The number given by Shan on the well-popular number Suhanalla from Fanna was indeed a amazing song as usual.
· Throughout the show, everybody kept guessing that Harshit will go away with the trophy, but in the conclusion, it was Lataji who broke the trepidation and announced the name of Ishmeet as the winner, that unquestionably was an immense disbelief to the fans of Harshit.
· Ishmeet is as worthy as anybody else. He has a very matchless voice perfect for passionate songs. He still stayed on the stage, in spite of a lot of pitiful mockery from some of the mentors.
· Ishmeet has been honoured with the title of Young Sikh Star of Punjab by a NGO Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. He will receive this honour at the Golden temple from the SDP President. He has already signed for Punjab’s youth icon for Sonata watches Yuva range.
Congratulations to Ishmeet for his novel accomplishment!

For a performer like Madhuri who persistently believes dancing awakens mysticism, no other movie could have manifest a be suitable return to Bollywood than Yashraj Films’ ‘Aaja Nachle’.
Aaja Nachle stars brilliant actors like Kunal Kapoor , Konkona Sen Sharma , Raghuvir Yadav , Vinay Pathak , Ranvir Shorey , Jugal Hansraj and Darshan Jariwala .
Star cast:
Madhuri Dixit as Dia
She was the life of Shamli. The town never forgave her and she never forgave the town. Anokhi is in fact anokhi (different). The difficulty is, Anokhi cannot sing or dance to conserve her life, or Dia’s.
Kunal Kapoor as Imran
Imran, a local self-assertive guy, believes that love, romance etc. is for timid, not for tough guys like him.
Additional stars:
Jugal Hansraj plays an accountant.
Précis:
During a dance rehearsal in New York, Dia gets a unforeseen call from India after a decade which cause distress to her.
Her Guru, Makarand (Darshan Zariwala) is on his last legs and she must return to Shamli town. This is the town where she was born and bread and where she learned the first step of dancing,. This is the town where lived her parents and other loved ones.
This is a heartbreaking and anxious return. The Guru is no more and the foundation that he dotingly developed is in decompose and under danger of pulling down. The theatre named Ajantha with which Dia‘s past recollections are surrounded is being pulled down by the local political authorities as they feel it is a misuse of leading real estate.
Dia takes the support of Raghubir Yadav, for the prevention of destruction of the theatre and built in a new. Dia picks up the challenge in an ambience of suspect, mockery and dynamic aggression and agrees to accomplish the near unattainable job of putting together a theatrical production.
In a time limit of two months she has to prove her worth and she can take the help of members of Shamili town only, or else the bulldozers will pull down the structure.
Thus begins Dia’s turbulent expedition of big business with small town irrational knowledge, conflicting with the anger of the influential supplier, the sarcasm of the local political powers, determine the understated tensions of inter personal relationships and so on…..
Dia’s group includes small rank muscle Imran (Kunal Kapoor), the local rough boisterous Anokhi (Konkona Sen), local ex-MLA Chaudhary Om Singh (Akhilendra Mishra), a tea stall owner Mohan Sharma (Ranvir Shorey), a accountable government official Mr. Chojar (Vinay Pathak), an insurance agent Sanjeev Mehta (Jugal Hansraj), the town homeless person Dhankuber (Nowaz) and a crowd of many others.
Dia’s target is to generate in this pandemonium ,a command to save Ajanta, in a bid to safeguard what her guru so adoringly tendered. She must craft art in order to defend what she believes is the soul of culture.
Jaideep Sahni is the author of the storyline based on the idea of Aditya Chopra.
The film’s music has been given by Salim-Sulaiman. Lyrics are by Piyush Mishra, Jaideep Sahni and Asif Ali Beg.
Main attraction:
-
- Comeback of Madhuri Dixit
- The Big Yash Raj Banner
- The addictive songs, Show me your jalwa and Sonia Saigal’s westernised Come on dance with me.
- Non insertion of any soaring hero, or else the male protagonist would have surpassed Madhuri.
Madhuri has got bundle of buoyancy on her face! Not every actress makes progress or make impressive comeback achievements. Once again Madhuri has proved that rigid effort and will power are the most apt implements, which could take her to shaky position to reach the assured distance. She is the best actress with less attitude
Madhuri is aesthetic, naive, and poised, with an indispensable heart of Indianness that is classic and appeals to all viewer. An element of risk is still involved . Hindi film industry has transformed a lot during her non-existence from the front battle. Will this type of town storyline visualize audience? Will she able to live up to expectations of the people is an dubious task. Although even in her 40’s she is still gorgeous, it would be unfair to expect the same refreshing perfection from her. It is the acting talent which will be tested now. As a middle aged lady, how much deepness she will bring to the character is a big question. Kajol in Fanaa pulled off a superb comeback as a blind girl, capably assisted by Aamir Khan. Now let us wait and watch how Madhuri is made of.
That inspired restiveness is what may make the difference. Aaja Nach Le is a vigilant taxing on Madhuri and Yash Raj. If the film proves to be worth seeing, we could get to see more of that luminous, extraordinary shaft of light in the approaching years.
