The Bollywood Star Shilpa Shetty shares the secret of her fitness, by way of an instructional video founded on the ancient Indian tradition of yoga titled ‘Shilpa’s Yoga’ released on DVDs and VCDs by Shemaroo Entertainment.
The yoga video is shot at the radiant backwaters of Gods own kingdom ‘Kerala’. Directed by Manisha Jha, under the direction of Yoga instructor Shiv Kumar Mishra and produced by Shilpa Shetty, Shilpa’s Yoga is very well enacted, picturised on the scenic beach with ceremonial elephants and Kalaripayattu fighters in the background and the demonstration of Asanas in a simplified manner .
Shilpa Shetty says ‘It’s a command system for life and it is the most holistic approach to life that I have ever come across. It reinforces tones and cures. It works on body, mind and soul. Yoga has had a spectacular impact on my life’. Atul Maroo, Joint MD, Shemaroo Entertainment states, ‘A title like yoga sounds ancient; yet the way ‘Shilpa’s Yoga’ is filmed is mind blowing moreover Shilpa has added an aesthetic touch to it with her genuine belief in yoga. We at Shemaroo are really proud to be associated with this lifestyle product’. This DVD is an introduction to ‘dynamic free-flow’ yoga practice by Shilpa Shetty. The VCD’s are launched in Hindi & English priced at Rs 99/- & Rs 149/- respectively. The DVD is priced at Rs. 299/- and it also has a bonus Audio CD of Shilpa’s Lounge Music along with bonus features that includes ‘Music Video’ ‘behind the scenes’ , ’stills’, ‘bloopers’, ‘15 minutes quick fix’ and but off course a tete-a-tete with Shilpa Shetty.
Suresh Menon, comedian of TV is in the preparation for a 24-hour comedy channel to leave the audience in jerks.
“I have been meeting different people involved in this field for starting a comedy channel which is my brainchild. Let’s see how my 15 years of experience on television comes to use. I shall be able to make a definite announcement in two months,” stated the exited Menon.
According to Menon, some comedy shows are currently on air, still there is a lot of breathing space for comedy on television and the substance is doing well and is getting better day by day.
Menon said that he has five films on floors; Don’t worry be happy, Tom Dick and Harry part II, 24 hour gupshup, The Man and Chatursingh.
He added “Comedy is here to stay in films. But, heroes would not like to call themselves as comedians. This is where films like Khalbali hai Khalbali directed by Ajay Chandok come into picture. This movie has 30 comedians together for the first time. I play a bell boy, a confused character in his own world. It is an interesting role,” says Menon.
Menon felt that it was wonderful working with comedians like Johnny lever, Shakti Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Tiku Talsania, Manoj Joshi, Rakesh Bedi, Vrajesh Hirjee, Dinesh Hingoo, Asif Sheikh, Ketki Dave,Delnaz Paul, Rasika Joshi, Chunky Pandey and many like that.
“Even though the hero of the film is Nikhil Dwivedi, all the comedians have pivotal roles and our characters have gelled very well to the main plot,” expressed the shy Menon.

The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan reportedly made the producers of Sarkar Raj shell out Rs.1 million for designer sunglasses for her look in the film.
Apparently, Ash herself chose the glares that made a big hole in the producers’ pocket. Obviously, the price tag left the production houses, K Sera Sera and Z Picture Company, reeling.
Ash plays Anita Rajan, an aggressive and ambitious business tycoon - she is the CEO of a power plant.
According to a source from the production house, Ash was given a pair of designer glasses as part of her look in the Ram Gopal Varma directed film.
But the Bachchan bahu didn’t like the sunglasses much and told the producers that she would get a pair for herself. It sounded fine, until the bill arrived.
Ash didn’t settle for anything regular. The source added that she finally selected a pair of Gucci sunglasses from Harrods when she was in London.
The glares do make a style statement as far as her look in the film is concerned, but the production house could not digest the idea of her wearing such expensive glasses, especially since they had to settle the bill.
‘Sarkar Raj’ also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in pivotal roles
Bollywood hopes to turn tide with big flicks
MUMBAI: Bollywood is looking to take over from where the IPL ends. The post-IPL period will see a flurry of big releases with Sarkar Raj, which marks the coming together of the three Bachchans, seeking to initiate the box-office hungama. The industry has seen a lull in the recent past, which has coincided with the cricket extravaganza, and only one film (Jannat) has managed to buck the trend. Films of various budgets have kept bombing at the box-office during the 44-day IPL fever. Now, Bollywood is gearing up to strike back. Sarkar Raj, a sequel to the 2005 hit Sarkar, is the first biggie (lined up for release this Friday); the film stars the three Bs (Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya).
Raima and Riya Sen are coming together…and as sisters…in Vicky Chopra’s Seasons Greetings. The episodic film directed by Vicky Chopra will apparently have six stories all coming together in unexpected ways. The two sisters are not too willing to discuss the project.
Raima shooting in Italy says, “Yes, Riya and I are finally coming together as sisters. But I’m yet to hear the script, though I’ve given the nod. Though she’s quite mad we’re very much alike in most respects.”
Riya speaking about the project earlier has said, “Raima and I stay together in Mumbai. There is not a thing that we don’t share. All our friends are common. If she likes someone, so do I. And if I dislike someone, she doesn’t have a choice. Our friends say we should’ve been twins.”
The sisters had offers earlier to act together. “But we were pretty sure that if and when we come together, it would have to be as sisters,” said Riya. Interestingly, when Shilpa and her sis Shamita came together, it was to play soutens in Deepak Tijori’s Fareb.
The inclination of going for a make-over is easily spreading fast in Bollywood like their counterparts in Hollywood. Some of our leading ladies who have gone under the carving knife are as follows:
SHILPA SHETTY
By now everyone knows that Shilpa has had her nose done. Off late, she has also undergone liposuction too.
PREITY ZINTA
Preity had an highly structured face work done just before shooting for Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Regrettably, the surgery left marks on her face gripping her to put on intense make-up.
KAREENA KAPOOR
This Saif’s new girl friend had cellulite removal surgery. She also underwent surgery to get a sharper jaw line and had her teeth aligned as well.
ESHA DEOL
Garam Dharam’s beti Esha got her square jawline and slumped lips rectified earlier. In recent times, she also had her upper lip improved as she felt her thin lips skint her looks. This was done when she enrolled for a dance course in the US where she got her lips corrected by a cosmetologist.
BIPASHA BASU
Many would not believe that this Bengali dusky beauty has had silicon implants as well as liposuction on her belly and thighs. Bipasha wanted to keep her body sculpting a secret, but the plastic surgeon determined to tell all when the star refused to pay her bills.
RAKHI SAWANT
Rakhi had silicon implants done by the same doctor as Bipasha’s. But unlike Bips, she cleared her bills with the surgeon.
SUSHMITA SEN
Sushmita who has had silicon implants justifies her work saying, “Enhancing one’s natural beauty isn’t a crime!”
Another wonder baby born in India. She has two faces!
Villagers are queuing outside Lali’s house to get a foretaste of the “Goddess”, baby Lali, a 24-day-old baby girl in Saini village near Noida. She is all set out to be rather a mob puller.
This wonder baby was born on March 11 to a Dalit family in a private hospital in Noida, the newborn has four eyes and two mouths. The infant with two faces is, however, unwavering and in good physical shape. In fact, despite the deformity, the child and her mother Sushma were discharged just the next day of the delivery.
“The baby’s delivery was normal and we felt there was no need to keep them in the hospital for further tests. But Lali’s mother had not come to us during her pregnancy,” stated Dr Archana of Saifi Hospital.
The child’s father, Vinod Singh, alleged, “We were shocked to see the baby. The doctor assured us that Lali would be a normal child in every other way. During her pregnancy, my wife was never ill and we never felt the need to consult a doctor.”
Lali’s is the first child of Sushma and Vinod, who got married in February 2007. “Initially we had some problem in accepting the child but now everything is fine. She is just like any other child,” believed the befuddled Sushma.
Older members in Saini Village uphold the child possesses celestial powers. “God has made her like this and we are lucky to be her parents,” assumed Brahm Singh, the grandfather, a daily wager in the Indian Railways.
