About the film:

Goal is set in the light of a positive feature known as optimism. The film revolves around a football club which raises above all standard to return to its position in fame. ( Something like in Aaja Nachle Mdhuri wants to restore her dancing theatre!)

A football club named Southhall United is facing a obstacle.., shortage of performers, funds deficiency, viewers and to add fuel to the fire no coach. At this juncture, along with Johny Patel, a sports commentator, Anne, head of city council form partnership to get hold of a large chunk of land which belonged actually to the Club. They bully the club by emphasizing on its lethargic and monotonous play.

The club’s owner is confident of retaining the land belonging to the club. Hanif (Naveen Andrews) the captain of Southhall united aspires to bring about a noted ex-player to coach his team. Sunny Bhasin (John Abraham) is a football player and hopes to play first division football and become the member of a top league.

Here Sunny is a victim of racism. The movie actors complained of racist incidents on their shoot as well. No Indian rich or poor can experience racism if they are in India and outside to see such a thing is ugly. Bipasha Basu has remarked that it was for the first time she faced such people who passed racist remarks on her and her counterpart Arshad Warsi. Later on Bipasha said that she preferred to ignore such an incident.

The movie deals with Sunny's trials and tribulations and how he eventually sorts out his differences with team members to help his club win.

Lots of training:

To look like skilled football players and to make Goal look as authentic as possible, the actors went through thorough preparation for three months. The actors were not only trained in football but also had to follow diet plans and had to learn the mannerisms of football players – the total attitude.

It is reported that John Abraham got injured himself during the shoots of the film Goal many times, but John just overlooked those injuries.

The entire film is based in London and a primary portion has been shot in the Southall area of London where the characters in the film are shown to reside.

The hottest couple John Abraham and Bipasha Basu emerge together onscreen, in full-blown roles after three years.

Bipasha plays a Pakistani medical student which is a a less attractive role . Arshad Warsi plays her cousin. To make her role little hot, there is a song Billo Rani.

Next sports film after Chak De

Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal is the next sports film after Chak De India which the cine goers may enjoy due to its high sports fortitude.

The film is shot like a Hollywood sports flip. Abraham hopes it should be acceptable to the mass and he gets the same applause as hockey flick Chak De India received.

Well, folks lets hope that Goal too scores big at the box-office.

Final comments:

A movie which can be watched by the whole family unit.
