An unfortunately managed photo-shoot at the Bowmanville Zoo, Toronto to erect circulation by presenting how bizarre ancient Indian martial arts can be, turned out to be very fatal for Indian Martial Art Trainer Gitanjali of Kerala .
The Indian trainer was knocked over by a lion during the photo shoot at the Zoo . She broke four ribs and a bloodied lung.
“To be honest, the sensation I have is a great deal of gratitude to be alive,†Gitanjali Kolanad said the bedridden trainer.
Since the commencement, the 180 kilogram beast proved mischievous and not completely in command of of its two minders.
Kolanad, 54, practices the ancient, and perceptibly feeble, Indian martial art of Kalaripayat, formed after the actions of such animals as the lion, elephant, wild boar and peacock. The magazine opted she pose with a lion. Next time, she might just tell them where to get off, and choose a peacock instead!
A video of the session shows Leo first knocking over editor Sonia Verma. She picks herself up and smiles. He next paws the legs of photographer Richard Lautens. Off-camera, he also took a swipe at the legs of art director Spencer Wynn.
The 3-year-old lion was two-faced in close proximity when an unmindful Kolanad was reaching into her actions. Still imperfect to leap, the animal jumped up and fell on her, knocking the breath out of her, injuring her left lung and infringing four left ribs.
It was not an assail, the witnesses said. The lion’s mouth was not open and Kolanad was not dented. The Bowmanville Zoo had no comment on the incident.
Focus is key in Kalaripayat, which bases its movements on the graceful control of animals. It’s a constant lesson in focal point. When you lose your focus, you instantaneously get hit.
In the video, one attendant kicks the otherwise obedient beast in the neck while the other pulls on Leo’s chain. The lion takes a second, abortive attack at Kolanad as she lies breathless, before he is escorted out the door.
Incapable to work for the past month and still in pain, Kolanad said she feels on the road to recovery.
This shows that there are no limits to human stupidity like performing before a dangerous beast at the cost of one’s life!!!
Kaho Na Yaar He in Star Plus was launched last Friday, the host being the hero of Kasturi, Karen Patel, a.k.a one of the contestants of Nach Baliye-3.
I would say it is of the spurious programme, atleast to be aired on Friday prime time. Fridays being weekend, people like to stay indoor and watch constructive and functional programmes like Nach Baliye and Star VOI etc. Not a soul would like to squander one hour before the tube watching a lacklustre, dull and unexciting programme like Kaho Na Yaar He. The host has no screen charisma and no fling in his channel of communication. You don’t feel like hooking to the TV.  The contestants they brought in the fist time was incongruous. Sonu Nigam was abstemious and sober; he too was trying to be over-hyper, but Mallika Sherwat was atrocious, who does not know even kindergarten maths.
Earlier weekends were thriller, when programmes like Nach Baliye and VOI used to air. There was no probability that at least people like me used to go out for outing and all with the family. Now other then yawning and surfing the TV we have no alternative.
This Friday they invited Ronit Roy and Gautami a.k.a. Tulsi of Kyoki Kabhi Sass Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. I don’t know what made Tulsi to come in a mini frock, viewers are used to see her in Gujarati sari and grey hair, for a family show she should have alteast draped in a sari or some other full dress. Tulsi was looking dreadful and appalling.
The questions put up to the contestants are also dim-witted, bizarre, illogical and foolish. There is nothing entertaining or captivating to analyze or pay attention.
On the whole, the show is an immense failure and disappointment to many. Star Plus must pull out the programme and in its position they should embark on some other pleasant and enjoyable programme.
Ek Chabi He Pados me—in Star Plus is not broadcasted for the last two weeks- no precise reason has been announced by the Channel—but folks I must say that people watch TV to flee from their each day predicament or strain lives and have few moments to relish and to alleviate constant worry. Nevertheless, if you look at recent serials currently on air these days, your stress and pain and insecurity are bound to aggravate due to the outrageous and bizarre plots. Apart from Ba Bahu and Baby and reality shows the only one serial which makes your week end pleasant is Ek Chabbi Hai Pados Main.
This is a very simple good plot, excellent portrayal, class direction and impressive star cast . It has the plus point of a thinking reasonably and brings out right emotions at right places. So my advice to those who are really fed up of Saas Bahus and really looking for some light amusement on Sunday ,then tune in at Star Plus.
The storyline is based on a small colony called Colnel Gunj. The main character is played by Varun Badola. His name is Sandeep who is an orphan staying in that colony and goes out of the way to help all to provide helping hand for any one who is in trouble. The character he implies has immense brain power with poised mind who is able to solve most of the trouble faced by colony residents whether personal or otherwise.
The strong point of the serial is the narration, depiction, sensibleness of the character of Sandeep which has been enormously put on effect. He is fully justified to his role.
The female lead is named Urmi, played Suhasi Garodia , a very beautiful, cheerful and sparkling character who is in love with Sandeep, but never able to express herself. The role has been well played by her and is in full form. She sounds little mischievous when she calls the hero as “sandeep babuâ€, she sounds incredibly warm but she gives full rationalization to the role. But I simply love her simplicity and exclusiveness, she is just pretty.
The distinctiveness of this serial is that it does not stay with one story but introduces new ones in every new episodes through its range of characters and attention-grabbing phenomenon. It comprises many stories about many people, not dissimilar life.
The episodes of recent were with a social message and could leave with many thoughts. But, in the resultant, the main force and stable magnetism of this show is, its foolproof adoring character played by Urmi and her untold adoration to Sandeep. Perhaps she knows the fact that “beauty is best when silentâ€.
The title track is sung by Sonu Nigam which brings back lots of attractive recollections of our locality during any Indian’s childhood & schooling days.
The story has been emancipated brilliantly and the problems that arise in each household are common. Spectators can pigeonhole with the situations exposed.
This program airs on Sunday nights, but why it is not broadcasted for the last two weeks— we are really missing it.
