Only three contestants were left for the final up till yesterday for the Amul Star Voice of India, Chotte Ustad.
But during the latest non-telecast shoot, Prakriti Giri has been eliminated from Amul Star Voice of India-Chhote Ustaad. Everyone first deliberated that this 12-year-old girl from Darjeeling would tag along the route of Indian Idol 3 winner Prashant Tamang as she continued her balanced scramble in the show, making it to the top five. But dissimilar to Prashant, Prakriti failed to grasp enough votes from the audience which would have saved her from the elimination round. The elimination episode is yet to be telecast and will be aired this Friday.
While liked by the judges, Prakriti faced callous opponents in the form of Aishwarya from Ahmedabad and Anvesha Dutta from Kolkata. In all the voting episodes, Prakriti managed to confine sufficient amount of votes to stay in the battle. She also made a record of sorts by securing the highest number of votes in all the episodes.
Nevertheless, last week, Aishwarya beat her to the top smudge with the uppermost number of votes. I see Aishwarya as queen of the show. She knows how to catch the fancy of the crowd as she is a unadorned superb singer in accurate sagacity and consider it is all about promotion. If one is not marketing the capacity then I am afraid one might gap at the rear. Full marks to the Hon’ble judges, as they have made their target clear to all of us. Now Anwesha have to substantiate herself to choose the popular song. But in spite of all the dramas and political views, it is better if she ponder on her singing only. Adesh precisely said; mike & camera don’t lie & of course when Pritam said, Anwesha is Anwesha. I think it means Anwesha is a brand and a class apart.
Not only India but the total world is behind you to witness the historic moment when history will be created on the Small screen as our Anwesha will be crowned Chhote Ustaad on 5th April ’08.
I am sorry, Aishwariya, I don’t see you in the crowning glory. You lack behind something, which is beyond me and my Team to articulate. Actually we see Anwesha as a full package. She has unfussiness, beauty, exquisiteness, traits, endowment, down to earth outlook, tremendous throw of voice, appropriateness of her voice to many heroines and above all stupendous singing capabilities.
May I take this opportunity to request you all to kindly support Anwesha whole heartedly by sending maximum number of votes to her so as to enabling her winning this competition.
It becomes incumbent upon us to back and support right talent and that is only ANWESHA.

Poor Adnan Sami, for the last three years he is trying to get Indian citizienship. The singer, a Pakistani national, owns a house in India, has a PAN card, and has now even applied for his marriage at the marriage registrar’s office in Bandra.
The singer-cum-composer is anxious for Indian citizenship and is wearisome the whole lot to get one. Adnan married Dubai-based Sabah Galadari last April and applied for the marriage registration in October. But the marriage is yet to be registered.
This is Adnan’s re-marriage with Sabah. The couple had married in September 2001 and separated in April 2004 after completing divorce proceedings in Dubai.
Adnan was married to Pakistani actress Zeba Bakhtiar before he married Sabah. He had stated many times before that Zeba was the real love of his life and the motivation behind his new sleuth look is the inspiration of Zeba. Meanwhile, his struggles to acquire Indian citizenship still continue. Initially, he seemed to have got a positive response to his application filed in November 2003. The singer had issued a notice in a newspaper in April 2005 announcing his desire for choosing Indian citizenship. However, it seems that his application is still pending.

If tax figures are to be believed, King Khan is a bigger king of the marketing world too.

A major share of his advance tax money has gone into paying for his income from endorsing a swerve of products and other sources, which is a whopping amount of Rs.270 million. Sources in the advertising agency for which the superstar has worked divulged that his income from endorsements fetches him Rs.1.5 billion ($38 million) a year, the highest for any Indian advertising “model”.
Amitabh Bachchan does more endorsement that King Khan, but his annual endorsements do not cross Rs.1.2 billion.
King Khan will continue to hold this position for more years as he has a strong threshold in the Bollywood compared to many others stars as there is no one yet who can opponent his magnetism.
In the current fiscal, his earnings from this source may go a little above Rs.1.5 billion as he has been made brand ambassador of more products - and more are waiting, the sources added. His movie does not fetch him more than 50-60 million per film.
A big large piece of his income from outside Bollywood in the current year also accrued from hosting STAR Plus’ “Kaun Banega Crorepati” quiz series for which he received Rs.10 million per episode.
King Khan received a profit of Rs. 400 million on his home production Om Shanthi Om when he sold the right to Eros International for whopping Rs. 750 million whereas his original expenditure was only Rs. 350 million. Rs. 50 million was the fees which he gave himself for working as hero in that movie, which is not included in the profit of accounts.
King Khan does not augment his fees unlike his contenders. It is implicit that he is not avaricious on this part. Even though his latest movie OSO is a super duper hit, he does not intend to increase his fees. That’s the star excellence he has, and that’s why he is victorious.
“Shah Rukh chooses his movies carefully. First, the subject matter must appeal to him and, if it does, his opting to star in the movie would largely depend on the credibility and antecedents of the producer and the director,â€said an executive of the star’s production banner, Red Chillies Production.
In disparity, Shah Rukh behaves like a ’star’ when he shoots for TV commercials. There he refuses to negotiation on anything, particularly on his price. “Why should I compromise? TV commercials are what they are – commercials, laments the Badshah
“Had the industry not put me in a position where I am today, would the companies have chosen me to be their brand ambassadors?” he asks.
Is King Khan, then, robbing Peter to pay Paul? As one advertising agency executive put it: “He is, but his breaking and entering seem like a communal deal.”Â

The world is a global marketplace and where once India was faced with watching Hollywood reruns, Bollywood is now one of the largest most powerful motion picture production facilities in the world.
Statistics: 1000 Hindi-language films are produced every year. Ticket sales exceed 3.6 billion.

Hollywood has its stars, so too does Bollywood and while the world’s tabloids may focus on Britney Spears, Yana Gupta and Abhay Deol are not far behind with a relationship that was secret, but now has been made public.
Randeep Hooda and Sushmita Sen are rumored to be having secret meetings on horseback, but the rumors were denied… “Where do you hear all this? Its complete rubbish,” laughs Sushmita. Aishwarya Rai has no intentions of quitting movies simply because she is married; and is paired with Gerard Depardieu in the film Asterix at the Olympic Games.
Another of Bollywood’s babes Monalisa (real name Antara Biswas) continues to draw attention and gasps from men (and some women) across India as she posses in revealing photographs and videos. Talking of photoshoots Gauri Khan graces the cover of US magazine “Vogue” and tells all in an expo’se.
Deepika Padukone a beautiful Bollywood heartbreaker, makes movies (latest Om Shanti Om) and works toward a Bachelors degree at Indira Gandhi National Open University. Heartbreakers John Abraham and Bipasha Basu have exchanged rings and will be married soon. Bollywood may never be the same with these eligible Bollywood stars getting hitched.

Prachi Desai who acquired identify and popularity on record courtesy Ekta Kapoor’s Kasamh Se is rising the success and celebrity ravel with chances falling under her lap, the most recent being launching opposite Farhan Akthar.

BestDesi.com talks to teenaged actress more or less her endless love, dance which gave her Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and gained the industry acknowledge that there has a lot to Prachi than equitable being Bani. In the last episode of Jhalak Dikla Jaa, Prachi Desai was nominated as the first finalist for the battle.
Which dance do you enjoy the well-nigh and which embodied the most difficult?
I genuinely had a good time doing the Cha Cha. And I discovered the late cabaret beat the hardest.
How come is it that the songs you decide are not real spicy?
I am not at ease with those type of dancing moves and costumes. The pick of song is subsidiary and what considers is the calibre of dance.
How come did you decline to put on certain costumes for the cabaret beat?
My bringing up does not allow for it. Furthermore, one dont require to throw away apparels to appear expert on the floor.
How do you experience right away that you are the number one finalist of the show?
I am thrilled, the rest two finalists, viz. Sandhya and Jay are too good dancers.
On whose elimination did you experience offend the most?
Apparently mine. Earnestly talking, we apprehend that Saturday afternoon when somebody has to go. Unluckily, we do not acquire a good deal time to even solace the kicked out Jodi, for we have to right away prepare for the gala round.
How has Jhalak facilitated you?
Masses now acknowledge me as Prachi and not just Bani. Participating in this reality show has made me very surefooted to experiment fresh matters. Originally, I would reckon dance as penalisation, but now I thirstily await for the following rehearsal.
Which has been the most virtuous consequence till now ?
Whilst I was returned in the wildcard. This demos how much I am adored.
Your chemistry with choreogpraher Deepak?
He is brilliant. When I first signed on, I was scared for I did not want a choreographer who would yell at misapprehensions. But Deepak is very diligent and cognise what works and what does not work for me.
Will you partake your trophy income with him if you succeeded?
We are not adhered to impart any money, the channel honors them individually. But I would certainly thank him in some other manner.
The finest bollywood dancer?
That would have to Madhuri Dixit and Hrithik Roshan.
Did Jhalak act as a persona in you bagging your film opposite Farhan Akhtar?
Why don’t you enquire them what instigated them? I was just pure auspicious to bulge this avid chance. Perhaps someone preferred away at the eleventh hour.
Today that you have embarked bollywood, would you step down TV?
No way, I love TV and would always continue part of this great industry which has foundered me everything.
If you get a balliye shortly, will you attempt Nach next time?
That’s a mischievous query. Permit me discover a balliye first. But for the present moment, Jhalak sways.
One last question, what were your parents reactions on your entering Bollywood?
They are very cheerful and they always will stand by me.

- The early flowering tulips….:
- Shah Rukh was enrolled in The St Columba’s School,in kindergarten in January 1972 at the age of six. It is an impressive institution spread over numerous acres of land in the heart of Delhi. Founded by the Indian Province of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, it was started on April 29, 1941 with 32 boys enrolled. The school’s status grew with its size. By 1955, the students numbered 2200, and a new building had been added.

- The demureness of the school:
- The Irish Brothers were well-known for discipline and punishment. Up to the late 1980s, corporal punishment was used at St Columba’s. Minor children were striked on buttocks. Older ones were caned on their backsides — a few whacks meant sitting on a sweater or bag all day to pad the cuts. And the eldest boys were rapped on their knuckles and fingertips. On cold winter days, the canes connecting with frozen fingertips caused on the spot blisters. The Brothers hid canes in their robes. If a rule was wrecked, penalty was instantaneous and excruciating.

- His visits to the hair-dresser:
- The school insisted on snappy nails and tiny hair. Anybody with hair over the chosen length was sent from school to the barber on the sidewalk at the nearby Gole Market. Shah Rukh, blessed with a intense, disorderly wash made this spree frequently. It was seven-thirty A.M and the barber had usually just woken up. He had morning breath and eyes full of sleep but he began the haircut with the same question, ‘What style haircut do you want, Dharmendra or Amitabh Bachchan?’ Years later, Shah Rukh knew he had attained celebrity when hair stylists told him that clientele were asking for the Shah Rukh Khan cut.
- His noutankis:
- Hindi gaalis or curse words bombarded his verbal communication. Fights were not infrequent. Shah Rukh saw knives pulled and blood pour. The image of cane-carrying priests and the prolonged schedule of rules at St Columba’s didn’t dissuade Shah Rukh. He was a master prankster. His best tricks were humorous, overconfident and generally put his burgeoning amateur dramatics aptitude to use. In the ninth grade, he hired an Amitabh Bachchan line from a film called Kaalia to persuade a teacher that his parents and the school administration neglected him.
- The teacher, his saviour:
- The teacher was his solitary unsubstantiated encouragement. Considering this and his tantalizing analytical rank, he told her, she should allow him to leave out some forthcoming tests. ‘Mere liye toh oopar bhagwan hai, neeche aap. Beech mein Yamraj talwar le kar vaar kar raha hai,’ he said. ‘For me, God is above and you below. In between, Yamraj, the Lord of Death, is attacking me with his sword.’ The repercussion being that the teacher was the only one who could save him from devastation. She bought it and endorsed him to overlook the tests.
- Fun with Teachers:
- Whenever they got a new teacher, he would play to have an epileptic fit. The students would pull off his shoes and would force him to walk bare feet. Everybody knew that Shah Rukh was playing consciously. He was really very asinine. He was awarded with the Sword of Honour by the school for all round development.
- His first crush:
- The primordial Church of Goldakhana is closest to the school and attached with its compound is the prominent Convent of Jesus and Mary.
- Gauri (now his spouse) used to study in that convent. It is learnt that they used to come by the same school bus. SRK had a crush on her. During a Christmas show, SRK showed Gauri his fondness to salsa with her. She agreed. Later on to meet her even during school hours SRK used to bunk classes and reached the girls convent to meet Gauri. The sharp Brothers of St Columbus caught SRK’s wayward playoffs and later built a huge compound barrier unscrambling the Convent of Jesus and Mary and St Columbus. Gauri’s parents later shifted her to the elite Modern School, Barakhamba Road.(Now Gauri is SRKs beloved wife).
- His school gang:
- In school there were four of them and called themselves the ‘C’ gang.
- As they were from the C-section. They are still friends and are married
- friends. Like he married Gauri who’s best friend is married to Vikas.
- He has never had more friends and close friends than these three-except
- perhaps, Chikki. Anyway, they were very cool, yanky gang, very American. They loved wearing Nike and they’d have a little spring in their walk, like the Americans and the blacks do.
- The good quality Khan:
- Shah Rukh would return home at nine every night, after taking part in elocution, exhibitions, or rehearsing. Later at night he would play Cricket under the street lamp. He would study at the last minute as he had a good memory.
- The arrogant Khan:
- At college he was quite lost as he came from a sophisticated school. But he was not an artificial guy with an accent like most guys from St. Columbus’s get. He admits that he learnt to be arrogant because of the ambience in school. He had it for 13 years in school. That amount of arrogance he says is excellent. Then that approach continued at Stephens College, Delhi, which he left after a year. He then joined Hansraj College, Delhi and after that he did Masters in Mass Communication from Jamiya Miliya Islamiya, in Delhi, but quit it in a year.
- Time has elapsed, he is a Star now:
- Now SRK is invited as a VVIP to the schools’ prominent and elevated profile shows, but he hardly ever attends those functions. Now only reminiscences are left. At the foyer of the school a big life size snap of King Khan is positioned as a chronicle of the legendry luminary.

Dr.Kiran Bedi, IPS Officer is a role model to the women of substance:
- · According to Kiran Bedi , “My concept of a modern woman is a liberated woman. Educated or not, economically independent or not, such a woman is capable of taking her own decisions and standing by them, and-whether she suffers from them or not-she does not look for a shoulder to weep on.” Even so, she says, women “need more quality education and much more vocational training to become truly empowered.” Property ownership is another key to empowerment. “With ownership (or joint ownership),” she says, “a man cannot drink away the family’s property, or sell it and leave the woman and children on the street.· Accomplishing that goal has become the number one priority of the National Commission for Women in India, but the government continues to drag its feet. Political parties must come together in support of this program as well as in support of family planning and more equitable educational opportunities. If they do not, the next generation will not have enough schools, teachers, transportation, health care, housing, or work. Such a situation is a recipe for civil unrest.” For India as a whole, Kiran says, “the key to change lies in the empowerment of village women-the largest percentage of women in India-but change in rural areas is agonizingly slow in coming.”
· Empowerment is related to population. “India is a rich country and should be a beautifully developed country,” Kiran says. “If population had been controlled twenty years ago there would be surplus rather than scarcity, and current growth would not be held captive by the ever-present need to feed new mouths. Women must learn and be allowed to say, ‘No! I don’t want any more than this.’ When that day arrives, daughters will be seen to be as much of an asset as sons, because educated daughters will be as equally capable to take care of parents in their old age as sons. Therefore, economically empowered women are crucial in the struggle to shape a new India.”
· In 1994, backing up her commitment to support reform in several areas, Kiran created the India Vision Foundation, a registered nongovernmental organization designed to carry out projects in the fields of prison reform, drug abuse prevention, empowerment of women, assistance to the mentally disabled, and sports promotion.
· Kiran, who has lived most of her life in the public view, has become a role model for Indian women-the disadvantaged, the marginalized, and the voiceless. Many believe that she literally embodies the struggle for gender equality. She has constantly had to fight against the commonly accepted bias that she is, after all, only female. She has had to battle systems that codify the dehumanization of women, and cultures that are all too willing to toss the talents and potential contributions of women on the rubbish dump. Kiran’s “crimes” have included functioning as an equal, speaking the truth as she saw it, having and implementing original ideas, working hard, and garnering success. And her lack of interest in “playing the game,” within a service in which professionalism has been replaced by favouritism, has been costly both professionally and personally. Although she has realized her childhood dream to “count for something,” her path has not been easy or without the need for sacrifice.
· Even her achievements and awards for service fuel controversy. Some, in looking at her history, see a dedicated and successful officer. Others, generally from among the ranks of the privileged and powerful, see an uppity woman-a narcissistic, publicity-hungry, regulation-flaunting, self-serving, rogue officer who constantly needs to be kept in her place.
· There is no need to say anything specific about this great Indian,” says Gulzar, “She won the Magasaysay Award for her work among prisoners. She has shown what a police officer should be like to our country. She is an icon and a model for all Indian women. We are proud of her because of her many-splendour personality. Whichever function she graces, she adds enlightenment and humour to it. Hers is truly an awesome presence.”
· The first woman IPS officer of India was denied the post of the Commissioner of Police, Delhi. Known for her dedication, she changed the face of Tihar prison as IG, Prisons. She is known for her outstanding work as Police Advisor in the UN peacekeeping department.
· Kiran Bedi, New Delhi’s renowned Inspector General of Prisons, described her presence at Asia Plateau as `a pilgrimage fulfilled’. She had been the first woman recruited to the Indian Police Force, in the 1970s, and when supervisor of Asia’s largest prison, in New Delhi, had introduced Gandhian philosophy and practice. This had dramatically.
· Whatever the outcome, her commitment to family planning, prison reform, women’s emancipation, and education for independence will continue.
· As Kiran Bedi likes Anne Dresskell’s saying “If you look out to do something, it is always possible.”
