An unfortunately managed photo-shoot at the Bowmanville Zoo, Toronto to erect circulation by presenting how bizarre ancient Indian martial arts can be, turned out to be very fatal for Indian Martial Art Trainer Gitanjali of Kerala .
The Indian trainer was knocked over by a lion during the photo shoot at the Zoo . She broke four ribs and a bloodied lung.
“To be honest, the sensation I have is a great deal of gratitude to be alive, Gitanjali Kolanad said the bedridden trainer.
Since the commencement, the 180 kilogram beast proved mischievous and not completely in command of of its two minders.
Kolanad, 54, practices the ancient, and perceptibly feeble, Indian martial art of Kalaripayat, formed after the actions of such animals as the lion, elephant, wild boar and peacock. The magazine opted she pose with a lion. Next time, she might just tell them where to get off, and choose a peacock instead!
A video of the session shows Leo first knocking over editor Sonia Verma. She picks herself up and smiles. He next paws the legs of photographer Richard Lautens. Off-camera, he also took a swipe at the legs of art director Spencer Wynn.
The 3-year-old lion was two-faced in close proximity when an unmindful Kolanad was reaching into her actions. Still imperfect to leap, the animal jumped up and fell on her, knocking the breath out of her, injuring her left lung and infringing four left ribs.
It was not an assail, the witnesses said. The lion’s mouth was not open and Kolanad was not dented. The Bowmanville Zoo had no comment on the incident.
Focus is key in Kalaripayat, which bases its movements on the graceful control of animals. It’s a constant lesson in focal point. When you lose your focus, you instantaneously get hit.
In the video, one attendant kicks the otherwise obedient beast in the neck while the other pulls on Leo’s chain. The lion takes a second, abortive attack at Kolanad as she lies breathless, before he is escorted out the door.
Incapable to work for the past month and still in pain, Kolanad said she feels on the road to recovery.
This shows that there are no limits to human stupidity like performing before a dangerous beast at the cost of one’s life!!!
The promos for King Khan’s new show Kya Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? For Star Plus are in chock-a-block to rock. King Khan will begin shooting for the show from April 4. These are the first pictures from the promos of the show:
Zeenat Aman, yesteryear glamour doll has signed together with Raj Babbar in “Dil to Diwana Hai” and says that it would be motivating to work with him again.
Incidentally, Zeenat is an ex-Miss India and Raj Babbar, these days is in the politics.
They were seen together for the first time in “Insaaf Ka Tarazu”, in which Zeenat played a model and Raj Babbar a rapist. To be produced by D.S. Productions, the film is being directed actor Raja Bundela.
“When Raja Bundela approached me for this role I just thought that it would certainly be interesting to work with Raj Babbar again,” said Zeenat who is in mid fifties now.
Apart from these two seasoned actors, there are two newcomers in the film — Aamir Khan’s brother Hyder Ali and popular Tamil and Telugu actress Sadaa.
Zeenat plays Hyder’s mother and Raj Babbar will be seen as Sadaa’s father. “Dil to Diwana Hai”, explores the changing mentality of the new generation, their attitude towards family values, traditions and the requirements of a bridge that can hold them between ethics and modern culture.
Sharukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai are getting together to act again after a long period of gap. This couple could not come togther after Devdas was due to the fact that Sallu bhai was very possessive of Aish.
Salman Khan had made this very clear on the sets of CHALTE CHALTE (2003), in which Ash was to act opposite Sharukh, but then due to a fight on the sets between Sallu and Sharukh, Ash could not star, and later Rani was chosen.
But at present everything is over between the old lovebirds. Today Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is enjoying the triumph of her first post marriage release, JODHAA AKBAR. She is also known to be “The first fully active actress after marriage!
The onscreen chemistry between SRK and Aish are noticeable, there is no two opinion about it. The fact that their pairing in films like, JOSH (2000), MOHABBATEIN (2000) and DEVDAS (2002) proved to be a big knock , cannot be shorn of.
The general view was that Aishwarya when Josh was released, Aish shared a better chemistry with SRK (who played her brother in the film) than with her love significance, Chandrachur Singh. Ash and Sharukh have that kind of appearance, which draws people to their films. Till today, their item number, ‘Ishq Kameena’ from SHAKTI -THE POWER (2002) is amazing.
Bachchan Bahu was asked if she was ready to work with Sharukh, she said that she is ready to work with him, provided that there is a proposal worthy of her consideration.
That is a statement worth to be listened by filmmakers.
During his hey days Govinda was a greater star and who was friendly with the tiny actress, when she was staying with her parents in an Andheri apartment. Out of emotion, he had given her that bungalow, which does not exist now. Now that nothing emerges between them, Govinda is asking her to return the Bungalow.
During earlier times, when Rani was a struggling actress, she wanted to stay in a modest place, so Govinda had transferred the bungalow in her name so legal battle may not help him much. Now that Govinda came to know that Rani Mukherji had bought a expansive home in Juhu’s Janki Kutir area, Govinda started taking advice on the ways of getting back his erstwhile property. He is still seeking advice only, not talked to Rani directly.
IGovinda and Rani Mukherji have worked together in several hit movies like ‘Chalo Ishq Ladaye’, ‘Hadh Kar Di Aapne’, ‘Pyar Deewana Hota Hai’ etc and their on screen and off screen chemistry were awesome. And this rewarding of a bungalow to Rani by Govinda is the result of these repercussions of those days.
If Govinda wants to unlock the Pandora box that would unquestionably go not in favour of Rani, but it would also pitch terrible radiance on Govinda who wants back something gifted at some point of time to somebody unusual!!
Perhaps Govinda did not know that “small gifts make friends, a great one will make enemy.

AHMEDABAD: Call it good fortune or just the will of God. But the life in a seven-month-old foetus, that fell through the toilet bowl of a running train when the mother went to ease herself, still lives on! Call it a miracle, perhaps. This tiny bundle weighing just 1.4 kg, which slipped from the womb into the toilet tube and crash-landed on rocks between two steel tracks, is from the top drawer of survival tales. Born a good two months premature, she is recuperating in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Rajasthan Hospitals. Here, she lies without a scratch after the providential escape just before midnight on Tuesday. “She is a fighter. In just 12 hours after the unthinkable accident, she was coming out of the accident quite well,” said pediatrician Dr Raj Kumar. “She is a gift from God. How else can all this be explained,” the girl’s mother, Bhuri Kalbi (33), said. Bhuri is a native of Swaroopganj, located between Sirohi and Abu Road, in Rajasthan and was travelling by the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad train. Bhuri was headed for Ahmedabad with her relatives for a medical check-up. She felt very weak on the toilet seat and passed out. The next thing she remembers is people knocking on the toilet door. When she managed to get up to open the latched door, she realized an emptiness in her stomach. “I realised my stomach was flat. My child was gone,” said Bhuri whose husband works in a packaging unit in Ahmedabad. Bhuri’s brother-in-law Arjun said when she opened the door she was semiconscious. He realised with complete shock what had happened. “We immediately pulled the chain at Kalol, two stations away from where the child had slipped off and alerted the train guard,” he said. On a day when the Railway Budget was presented by Lalu Prasad, who promised ‘green toilets’ in trains, the girl can thank railway personnel for snatching her from sure death. As she lay on the track — fortunately located close to the Amblisayan railway station — some members of the Gram Rakshak Dal alerted station master KK Rai that a new-born child was lying on the track. While rushing to the spot on foot, Rai said he could hear the cries of the baby from a distance. On coming closer, he could not believe what he saw. “The baby was lying dangerously close to the left track with the umbilical cord hanging by the side,” Rai said. The baby had turned blue due to the chill at midnight. The railwaymen wrapped the baby in a cloth and called the local doctor. While the child was being examined, a call came, saying the parents were traced. The mother could not believe her eyes when she was reunited with the baby two hours later at the Kalol Civil Hospital. And she just can’t take her eyes off this baby ever since.
Ekta Kapoor’s is launching her new serial Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil 3rd March.
The time slot of the serial will be 8:30 p.m prime-time , thus replacing the oldie, Kasautii Zindagii Kay. It is hoped that the show becomes an amazing hit.
The name of the leading lady of the serial is Aditi Gupta. But since Ekta is fond of numerology fixture and is very gullible about it, it is understood that she made a bit change on the lady’s name, she simply added another D in Aditi to make it more powerful.
So wait and watch for another capacious serial from Balaji.
