There is no second judgment that Anwesha is the unsurpassed candidate for the Chotte Ustad title.  Howsoever, even Star Plus is bountiful by giving more exposure for Aishwariya, the end result has to be that Anwesha of Kolkatta will bag the crown.  Her code number is 9 for the voting lines, which itself is a unambiguous clue that she is the obvious winner, as numerologically 9 is a very powerful number compared to 11 of Aishwsariya.  The precise talent, correct aptitude, flair, endowment and above all, the  right contestant has to win ,and that is Anwesha.

The pre-eminent and the most greatest part I like about Anwesha is that all along with persuasive and credible singing, she possess down to earth intrinsic worth, a quality which is personified in her body language, perhaps she got it genetically from her mother who always keeps a optimistic, buoyant and positive smiling face even when Aishwariya is being praised ;dissimilar to Aishwairya’s mother who makes unconcerned and undaunted facial expressions when Anwesha is praised. What I mean to communicate is that Anwesha’s naive and raw qualities are too personified in her singing capabilities.  I am stressing the point again that Anwesha is the best gifted sweet melodious singer and so please help her win the title.

When Deepika Padukone met her idol, Rishi Kapoor not as a fan but Rishi’s son’s girlfriend she was flabbergasted and said “It’s amazing. But in his younger days my dad (badminton champ Prakash Padukone) was often told that he resembled Rishi Uncle. I grew up as his big fan, have seen Karz and Kabhi Kabhie number of times. When Ranbir took me to meet his parents, I was re-living my childhood images of the most compatible couple I’ve ever seen on screen.”
Even the Kapoors has welcomed their would be daughter in law that’s why Deepika feels “Rishi Uncle is so warm. As for Neetu Aunty, she has an aura of natural grace and charm about her. Deepika cannot go on without appreciating the Kapoors, she has lot of regard to both of them which is apparent from her statement which says “Both Ranbir and his sister Ridhima have been brought up with the right values. They come from such an illustrious family. And yet they’re so down-to-earth. I see many similarities between their upbringing and mine. Though both Ranbir and I were exposed to celebrity situations from childhood, our parents have made sure we’re firmly rooted to reality.”
When asked about their marriage, Deepika expressed that “we’re both very comfortable in our relationship. Now that we’ve come out in the open about our relationship, our parents are very happy. Beyond that it’s too early to talk about marriage.”
About her affair with Yuvraj and on the impressionable comment made by Yuvraj, Deepika says confidently that “I really don’t think she said anything against me. If she had a grudge she’d call me up and talk to me. I always say that no outside source can know what kind of a relationship two people share. I spoke to her after the statements attributed to her came out. I’ve always shared a fantastic rapport with her. She’s a wonderful and strong person. I’ve learnt a lot from her. As a woman and mother, I look up to Yuvraaj’s mother. She’s a multi-tasking mother. She has single-handedly brought up her two children. Yuvraaj is doing extremely well for himself. And his younger brother who has just started out is also doing very well himself. I wish the family all the best.”

Zeenat Aman and Raj Babbar coming together againFiled Under: Bollywood, Box Office, Movies

Zeenat Aman, yesteryear glamour doll has signed together with Raj Babbar in “Dil to Diwana Hai” and says that it would be motivating to work with him again.

Incidentally, Zeenat is an ex-Miss India and Raj Babbar, these days is in the politics.

They were seen together for the first time in “Insaaf Ka Tarazu”, in which Zeenat played a model and Raj Babbar a rapist. To be produced by D.S. Productions, the film is being directed actor Raja Bundela.

“When Raja Bundela approached me for this role I just thought that it would certainly be interesting to work with Raj Babbar again,” said Zeenat  who is in mid fifties now.

Apart from these two seasoned actors, there are two newcomers in the film — Aamir Khan’s brother Hyder Ali and popular Tamil and Telugu actress Sadaa.

Zeenat plays Hyder’s mother and Raj Babbar will be seen as Sadaa’s father. “Dil to Diwana Hai”, explores the changing mentality of the new generation, their attitude towards family values, traditions and the requirements of a bridge that can hold them between ethics and modern culture.

The shoot of the film will start in May,2008

On Womens Day today i.e. 8^th March,2008 ,BestDesi.com asked Bollywood stars on what they feel being a woman , this is what they opined:

Shilpa Shetty: As a woman I’ve nothing to grumble about. Today when I go abroad I’m proud to symbolize my film fraternity, my gender, my country and myself. I guess I’ve been singularly lucky. I realize there’re so many women in our country who are still aggressive to earn a living. But I think things are varying very fast. Opportunities for women aren’t incomplete any longer. 

Hema Malini:   I’m proud to be a woman and an Indian. With the prominence that I’ve achieved I’ve no problem getting what I want. But I know it isn’t so with a lot of women in our country. I sympathize with their distress and I do want to work towards getting better their lot. That’s one of the reasons I joined politics.

Ekta Kapoor : Being a woman is no annoyance. Though I won’t say it’s an benefit either in today’s India - at least not in the corporate world. Yet lots of women in rural India are made to believe they’re deprived by their gender. Yes gender bias is fading. I think our inherent advantage as women is that we’re stronger than men even though we’re more perceptive.
 

Bipasha Basu:    The new Indian woman cuts across all age groups and class structures. We acclimatize better to situation because we are not playing by the rules of others. We are flexible and are able to bounce back from every prospect. I know women who go to work, take care of house and home, and be mothers without breaking a step. I don’t know many men who can do that. Somehow we never tire out ourselves as much in the place of work as men do.

Mother Assaulting her kid in Car Wash,Caught on TapeFiled Under: Video, Videos

Security cameras caught a strange case of child abuse in a car wash bay at the Magical Car Wash in Orlando. They show a woman spraying a toddler with a high pressure hose while another woman watches. The footage shows the toddler attempt to run away, but she is grabbed and pinned to the wall as she is prayed on the legs, back and even her face. The manager of the car wash didn’t see the abuse until she watched the footage, but she did hear the little girl crying after the incident. She alas heard the woman state, “You’re going to learn to respect me. You don’t treat me bad. You don’t mistreat me; I’m your mother.” Footage also shows the girl being stripped naked, while the two women grabbed a towel and put her back in the car. Once investigators locate the women, they said the mother will likely face child abuse charges.

While I certainly agree that this hose would not be sufficient to do permanent harm to the kid’s skin, it is still certainly strong enough to cause a very high level of pain at that range, much more than a child that age should endure. Children feel pain much more intensely than adults do.

Foetus slips out of moving train, safeFiled Under: Foetus

AHMEDABAD: Call it good fortune or just the will of God. But the life in a seven-month-old foetus, that fell through the toilet bowl of a running train when the mother went to ease herself, still lives on!
Call it a miracle, perhaps. This tiny bundle weighing just 1.4 kg, which slipped from the womb into the toilet tube and crash-landed on rocks between two steel tracks, is from the top drawer of survival tales.
Born a good two months premature, she is recuperating in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Rajasthan Hospitals. Here, she lies without a scratch after the providential escape just before midnight on Tuesday.
“She is a fighter. In just 12 hours after the unthinkable accident, she was coming out of the accident quite well,” said pediatrician Dr Raj Kumar.
“She is a gift from God. How else can all this be explained,” the girl’s mother, Bhuri Kalbi (33), said. Bhuri is a native of Swaroopganj, located between Sirohi and Abu Road, in Rajasthan and was travelling by the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad train.
Bhuri was headed for Ahmedabad with her relatives for a medical check-up. She felt very weak on the toilet seat and passed out. The next thing she remembers is people knocking on the toilet door.
When she managed to get up to open the latched door, she realized an emptiness in her stomach. “I realised my stomach was flat. My child was gone,” said Bhuri whose husband works in a packaging unit in Ahmedabad.
Bhuri’s brother-in-law Arjun said when she opened the door she was semiconscious. He realised with complete shock what had happened. “We immediately pulled the chain at Kalol, two stations away from where the child had slipped off and alerted the train guard,” he said.
On a day when the Railway Budget was presented by Lalu Prasad, who promised ‘green toilets’ in trains, the girl can thank railway personnel for snatching her from sure death. As she lay on the track — fortunately located close to the Amblisayan railway station — some members of the Gram Rakshak Dal alerted station master KK Rai that a new-born child was lying on the track.
While rushing to the spot on foot, Rai said he could hear the cries of the baby from a distance. On coming closer, he could not believe what he saw. “The baby was lying dangerously close to the left track with the umbilical cord hanging by the side,” Rai said. The baby had turned blue due to the chill at midnight.
The railwaymen wrapped the baby in a cloth and called the local doctor. While the child was being examined, a call came, saying the parents were traced.
The mother could not believe her eyes when she was reunited with the baby two hours later at the Kalol Civil Hospital. And she just can’t take her eyes off this baby ever since.

Homage to yesteryear actress ManoramaFiled Under: Manorama

Yesteryear stalwart, actress Manorama passed away in Mumbai on February,15.  She was last seen in Deepa Mehta’s film Water. She was popular with her comic and negative roles.  She had suffered a stroke six months ago, and after that only her death news alerted Bollywood, we found that only few people attended her funeral. It seems she did not leave any immediate family behind her as she was staying with her mother, her mother died long back. In 1926 she started of her career as a child artist, she did 150 films. Junoon was the film she did with Mahesh Bhatt, after that a long gap she worked in Water.

It is a sorry state of affairs that in Bollywood, one is recognized and branded only when they are in eminence.  After the illumination of affluence and opulence is  extinguished you are a faceless  and anonymous someone. Many celebrities died an unidentified and mysterious death like Mehmood, Pravin babi, Lalita pawar, Nadira etc. are a fewer examples.  A celebrity is in the  glare of publicity only when they acquire  oodles of wealth and towering silhouette acquaintances and contacts , after your passage to the everlasting and perpetual world, a few close friends may choose to attend the funeral. Aditya Chopra, Filmmaker of DDLJ and Choor Choori Chupe Chupke fame, recently finally got divorced from his wife and now intends to marry film star Rani Mukherjee.  According the grapevines the Chopras  (his father and mother) are not happy with the marriage, so to keep good terms with the alienated first daughter in law, they have gifted her with a bungalow in Juhu and some whopping crores to keep her lips lock. Aditya’s first marriage is 6 year old. Seems Rani too is following the steps of Hema Malini , Sridevi and Karishna Kapoor who all happen to marry , already married men and now that Kareena is also on the way.  May be these girls are more fascinated in braking a contentedly nuptial home and also looks like that they have an affection to men much mature to them in  epoch too.
