Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan received the best actor award for his recital in the Yash Raj Films’ super hit film “Chak De! India”.
Film and Television Producers’ Guild of India (FTPGI) honoured veteran Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra with its top award for “outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema”.
Kareena Kapoor walked away with the best actress trophy for the film “Jab We Met” at a scintillating presentation ceremony at the MMRDA Ground in the Bandra-Kurla Complex in northwest Mumbai Sunday.
FTPGI hosts its own award ceremony to honour Indian artistes as well as creative and technical personalities from the film industry every year.
The trophies are known as “Apsara” awards.
While “Chak De! India” was chosen the best movie of 2007, its director Shimit Amin bagged the trophy for the best director.
A Pakistani television channel, ARY Gold, also honoured actor Hrithik Roshan as the Best Male Style Icon of the year at the ceremony.
Katrina Kaif bagged the Best Female Style Icon ARY Gold trophy.
Akshay Kumar, who churned out the maximum number of hits last year, was adjudged the “Entertainer of the Year” by the FTPGI jury.
NDTV Imagine honoured Deepika Pudokone and Ranbir Kapoor as the year’s best new faces, respectively.
Salman Khan and Govinda received the hit pair NDTV Imagine trophy for their breezy performances in producer Sohail Khan’s hit movie last year, “Partner”.
Salman Khan, Bipasha Basu, Kareena and Riteish Deshmukh performed on the stage. The awards presentation ceremony was put together by Wizcraft.

Before returning to India and setting up his company Infosys, its Chairman Mr. Narayanmurthy worked in Bulgeria. He had a very horrific time during his preceding days of staying there. Shah Rukh Khan (SRK)’s hallucination of owning a bungalow in Palm Island, Dubai has been fulfilled. After living in Mannat (his Bombay house), he is the owner of Jannat in Dubai. When asked him how big is his new dream project, he reciprocated that it is as big as his heart (which is quite big). He has recently been handed over the keys of the bungalow and the interior decoration of the bungalow will be done very shortly by Gauri Khan.

The sand is deposited with the help of a dredging ship which is guided to the right position and monitored by a GPS. This process is known as rain bowing. The outer most edge of the encircling crescent of each Palm Island in Dubai is actually a large rock breakwater which is placed by a crane and is given a GPS coordinate.
Each of the Palm Islands in Dubai are constructed in the shape of a date palm tree including its trunk, crown with fronds and finally surrounded by a crescent island . Mukesh Ambani has been affirmed the richest man, a few days ago. He gifted his wife, Neeta Ambani, the most expensive birthday gift of all, a Rs 242 Crore Airbus 319 Corporate Jet, on her 44th. The aircraft, an Airbus 319, has all the luxury paraphernalia coupled with the everyday life of jet-setting kind such as a sky bar, a master bedroom as well as a bathroom with fancy shower.
The aircraft is also equipped with a big business centre, outpost television and a cabin with state-of-the-art system for music and games, besides wireless communication.
Neeta happily celebrated her birthday on Thursday, and received the gift from her husband, the World’s richest man and of course the head of Reliance Industries!
The aircraft arrived at the Delhi Indira Gandhi International airport on Thursday, confirming the rumours! Mukesh will now have hopefully have his office in the sky. He got the Aircraft specially tailored to his personal needs after he had bought it. Now, this is what you you call style? I wonder where is his personal parking space for this Jet.
It was a thoughtless inclination on the part of the Indian billionaire to give his sweetheart such a luxurious endowment. Had he spent the money on community work and gave it instead to donations, it would have been excellent. This conduct will only promote all prosperous and affluent folks to spend profligately on their spouses and the spouses will per se expect such classy gifts in the near future.
As an alternative it would have been better if Mr Billionaire took a message from Dubai and took up a more benevolent venture for the spilling over starving and ignorant millions of Indians. Recently under the Dubai Cares Programme , the country took pledge to sponsor 100 thousands of poor children in India and Africa. World’s Richest Man Mr. Mukesh Ambani should look around and feel for his people rather than gratifying his beloved.
