Kya aap Paanchvi pass se tez hain cavalcade is running from city to city auditioning for the apparent contestants for the show. As so many general public are registering for the auditions, the selection team is in a huge impasse over categorization of the challenger profiles.
The consequence of the on-air and off-air promotion is so marvellous that audience from different backgrounds right from doctors to actors have come to the audition to involve oneself as contestants on Paanchvi Pass.
Bhopal and Bangalore saw lakhs of aspirants requesting to meet Shah Rukh Khan or get his immediate look thinking that he has come personally for the auditions; although SRK didn’t travel himself for the same.
In Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata populace waited for hours outside the audition centers to take Paanchvi pass test and make some fast money; especially with the prize money of 5 crores.
The genuineness will be at last tested on Kya aap paanchvi pass se tez hain in Star Plus commencing from 11th and 12th April, 2008 in the first instance.

AHMEDABAD: Call it good fortune or just the will of God. But the life in a seven-month-old foetus, that fell through the toilet bowl of a running train when the mother went to ease herself, still lives on!
Call it a miracle, perhaps. This tiny bundle weighing just 1.4 kg, which slipped from the womb into the toilet tube and crash-landed on rocks between two steel tracks, is from the top drawer of survival tales.
Born a good two months premature, she is recuperating in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Rajasthan Hospitals. Here, she lies without a scratch after the providential escape just before midnight on Tuesday.
“She is a fighter. In just 12 hours after the unthinkable accident, she was coming out of the accident quite well,” said pediatrician Dr Raj Kumar.
“She is a gift from God. How else can all this be explained,” the girl’s mother, Bhuri Kalbi (33), said. Bhuri is a native of Swaroopganj, located between Sirohi and Abu Road, in Rajasthan and was travelling by the Jodhpur-Ahmedabad train.
Bhuri was headed for Ahmedabad with her relatives for a medical check-up. She felt very weak on the toilet seat and passed out. The next thing she remembers is people knocking on the toilet door.
When she managed to get up to open the latched door, she realized an emptiness in her stomach. “I realised my stomach was flat. My child was gone,” said Bhuri whose husband works in a packaging unit in Ahmedabad.
Bhuri’s brother-in-law Arjun said when she opened the door she was semiconscious. He realised with complete shock what had happened. “We immediately pulled the chain at Kalol, two stations away from where the child had slipped off and alerted the train guard,” he said.
On a day when the Railway Budget was presented by Lalu Prasad, who promised ‘green toilets’ in trains, the girl can thank railway personnel for snatching her from sure death. As she lay on the track — fortunately located close to the Amblisayan railway station — some members of the Gram Rakshak Dal alerted station master KK Rai that a new-born child was lying on the track.
While rushing to the spot on foot, Rai said he could hear the cries of the baby from a distance. On coming closer, he could not believe what he saw. “The baby was lying dangerously close to the left track with the umbilical cord hanging by the side,” Rai said. The baby had turned blue due to the chill at midnight.
The railwaymen wrapped the baby in a cloth and called the local doctor. While the child was being examined, a call came, saying the parents were traced.
The mother could not believe her eyes when she was reunited with the baby two hours later at the Kalol Civil Hospital. And she just can’t take her eyes off this baby ever since.

The world is a global marketplace and where once India was faced with watching Hollywood reruns, Bollywood is now one of the largest most powerful motion picture production facilities in the world.
Statistics: 1000 Hindi-language films are produced every year. Ticket sales exceed 3.6 billion.

Hollywood has its stars, so too does Bollywood and while the world’s tabloids may focus on Britney Spears, Yana Gupta and Abhay Deol are not far behind with a relationship that was secret, but now has been made public.
Randeep Hooda and Sushmita Sen are rumored to be having secret meetings on horseback, but the rumors were denied… “Where do you hear all this? Its complete rubbish,” laughs Sushmita. Aishwarya Rai has no intentions of quitting movies simply because she is married; and is paired with Gerard Depardieu in the film Asterix at the Olympic Games.
Another of Bollywood’s babes Monalisa (real name Antara Biswas) continues to draw attention and gasps from men (and some women) across India as she posses in revealing photographs and videos. Talking of photoshoots Gauri Khan graces the cover of US magazine “Vogue” and tells all in an expo’se.
Deepika Padukone a beautiful Bollywood heartbreaker, makes movies (latest Om Shanti Om) and works toward a Bachelors degree at Indira Gandhi National Open University. Heartbreakers John Abraham and Bipasha Basu have exchanged rings and will be married soon. Bollywood may never be the same with these eligible Bollywood stars getting hitched.

Hair clips are commonly used in our country by the ladies. It is a piece of evidence that the colour of your clips and the mind-set you exemplify co- relate each other.
White clips: Women preferring white clips are quite clear in their mind about the focus they sketch about or the judgment taken by them are unchangeable. These people don’t get bewildered. In fact they are explicit
Red clips: These women succumb to emotions. Regardless of looking around the environment, they divulge their opinion. They are lackadaisical.
Blue clips: They persist deliberating about a scrupulous concern but will under no circumstances come to a unambiguous finale. They come under the category of rigid.
Green clips: These people are immense rule breakers. Travels in the contradictory direction. Don’t follow the crowd. They are always inconsistent.
Yellow clips: These people find goodness in everything. Howsoever the matter may be, the hidden righteousness is seen by them. In fact they are honest.
Black clips: Very precarious, totally unenthusiastic, will count the chickens before they are hatched. Will try to explore the improbable from the probable. They come under the category of insecured.

- She’s
gorgeous, intelligent and very much her own person. Sarah-Jane Dias, Pantaloons Femina Miss India-World 2007, talks on her preparations for the Miss World pageant.
Age:24 yrs
Height:5’9’’
Stats:35-27-37
Was the Femina Miss India contest always part of the larger plan in life, or was it just something you decided to enter?
It was unquestionably not on a impulse. I’d always wanted to be a Femina Miss India since I was a little girl. Then I read an ad in the paper this year and knew it was time. I was 24… I didn’t want to look back at 60 and regret not having given it a try.
You dreamt of being famous?
Yes. I enjoy being famous. Initially, it was a attraction, now it’s a job.

How do you feel being among the Femina’s 50 Most Beautiful Women in India?
I can’t believe it. For someone as low profile as me, it was overwhelming.

You are thinking of getting into Bollywood?
For now, I’d really like to stay focused on the contest. But I also want to do a lot of things in the future, Bollywood, etc. And I definitely want to have an album of my own some day.
What is your dream role?
Any role in ‘Shantaram’. I’d have the best of both worlds. I mean, it’s Johnny Depp and Amitabh Bachchan!
Tell us your fitness mantra.
I’ve been in training for about three months now. Deanne Pandey is my trainer and she is really the best. She’s extremely dedicated and constantly updates my workout so that I don’t get bored. I do a bit of kick boxing, yoga, weight training and cardio and I eat healthy.
Your advice to the young girls who would like to experience Femina Miss India.
Young girls out there should not let anyone control their minds. If you give up your autonomy, you’ve lost a massive part of yourself.
The worst analysis you have received so far?
Bodily criticism is the easiest way to affect a girl. I got a lot of that during the pageant. I decided to get healthy, and lost six kilos in three weeks.
The secret to your beauty..
Water. I try to drink at least three to four litres a day. It’s wonderful and flushes out all the toxins.
What do your carry in your make up box?
I always carry some sort of gloss, because my lips tend to get chapped a lot. So I have my gloss from The Body Shop. Also, transparent mascara and of course the Bobbi Brown eye shadow, blusher and bronzer in one.
The obsession you disgust about yourself..
I’m very hard on myself…
Do you have boyfriends?
I’m single… but have no time for a relationship. I’m dating a couple of
guys though.
The biggest support you have..
My family.Although they live in Muscat, I know they are always there for me. I gain my strength from them.
Where do you see yourself after an year?
Travelling around the world, hopefully as Miss World!
*****************************************************************
I find her UGLY! she is not going to win MISS WORLD FOR SURE! She is the worst to happen to The Miss Indian contest since..umm ever?

Top songs
Last year’s top song was definitely Beedi Jalai Le. Its trendy folk-flavour floored everyone in 2006. This year, Chak De India’s anthem was by far the best song of the year. The singer Sukhvinder Singh, who also had a major role in Beedi’s success, has thus received top of the year honors twice.
Remixes
The painful glut of remixes has slowed down, though not stopped entirely. Now, composers include remixed versions on the original albums before anyone else has a chance to manipulate the tunes. In short, this trend is a lesser of the two evils.
Top 10 Songs
Amidst largely similar-sounding songs, a few songs made a difference.
-
Chak De
(Chak De India) Sukhvinder Singh
-
Aankhon Mein Teri
(Om Shanti Om) KK
-
Jabse Tere Naina
(Saawariya) Shaan
-
Halke Halke
(Honeymoon Travels) Neraj Shridhar
-
In Dinon Dil Mera
(Life In A… Metro) Soham
-
Kitni Der Tak
(Delhi Heights) Sonu Nigam
-
Cheeni Kum Hai
(Cheeni Kum) Shreya Ghoshal
-
Mind Blowing Mahiya
(Cash) Sunidhi Chouhan
-
Aye Ganpat
(Shootout at Lokhandwala) Mika Singh
-
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom
(Jhoom Barabar Jhoom) Shankar Mahadevan
Top 5 Albums of the year
1. Khoya Khoya Chand by Shantanu Moitra
2. Life In A Metro by Pritam
3. Saawariya by Monty Sharma
4. Om Shanti Om by Vishal-Shekhar
5. Delhi Heights by Rabbi Shergil
ARTISTE’S CHOICE
- Shankar Mahadevan
“I think our work, as composers,in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (he was a part of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composer-trio for JBJ) was appreciated, even though the film did not do well at the box-office. As a singer, I enjoyed singing its title song. I am happy to explore different music genres on different soundtracks.”
- Shreya Ghoshal
“Luckily, this year I managed to sing quite a few good songs such as the title song of Cheeni Kum, the slow version of Tara Rum Pum, the item number Yeh Ishq Haaye and the semi-classical Chhand Re. In Khoya Khoya Chaand, I enjoyed singing Thirak Thirak, a duet with Sonu Nigam, where I received specific instructions not to go overboard. I also sang Chale Aao Sainya, which was a good classical number.”
- Shaan
“I loved the title-songs of Johnny Gaddar, Aankhon Mein Teri, Om Shanti Om and the romantic duet – Bol Na Halke from Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Among my own efforts, I liked Jabse Tere Naina from Saawariya and Yeh Pyar Kya Hai – the romantic ballad from Marigold.”

The long journey of Saif Ali Khan- from the soiled bud of a nawab family to one of Bollywood’s largely multitalented actors and a serious challenger for the No.1 dot, he has truly emerged successful at the turnstiles.
After Saif’s debut in Umesh Mehra’s “Aashiq Awara” a well-known columnist wrote, “Put a dupatta on Saif’s head and he looks like Sharmila Tagore.”
But reacting to comments of that sort Saif said recently, “My detractors and their harsh comments have been my greatest incentive to prove myself.”
Saif almost always ends every scrutiny cautiously. No wonder it took him so long to appreciate his importance. “But do I really know my worth today?”
Yes, Saif has his mother Sharmila Tagore. But moms, as experience tells us, don’t count in Bollywood. If they did, Nutan’s son Mohnish Behl would’ve been the hugest superstar on the block.
There’re stories about how insecure he would get on the sets of Karan Johar’s “Kal Ho Naa Ho”. But Saif denies them.
saif says, “You know I get paranoid about every movie. I knew from the start that Shah Rukh would be the pivot of the film. But I knew I had great lines and a great role. I was never made to feel Shah Rukh was more important to the project. I went with very clear expectations. It was a civilised unit. Everyone was young and fun. I didn’t feel like an outsider at all. I never did, though I was from outside Mumbai.”
Now, the actor seems to be enjoying his newfound status as a leading man to the hilt.
“Omkara” was definitely a new beginning. When Vishal Bahradwaj zeroed in on him to play the Indian Iago, Saif was, as usual, unsure. He never says an outright yes to any role, not even when it comes to a film like Farhan Akhtar’s “Dil Chahta Hai”. That film clearly was the turning point in his career.
Siddharth Anand, Saif’s good friend, gave Saif’s career as a leading man a extra enhance with “Salaam Namaste”. Siddharth thinks Saif is continuously doing roles that confront him to make his existence felt.
Living in the moment he is more peaceful than ever before and hogging the public interest for his suspected issue with Kareena Kapoor.
“On the sets of ‘Omkara’ people would say there were four National Award winners. My first impulse would be to wonder who was the fourth after Vishal, Ajay Devgan and Konkona Sen. Then I’d realise, ‘Oh shit, the fourth National Award winner is actually me!’”
Saif has the final word. “I may seem like a bundle of contradictions most of the time. But there’s a method to my madness which is apparent only to me a lot of times.”
*************************
Kareena thrilled about jump from gloomy to smirk
Critics are rampant about her new film “Jab We Met”, a full-on comedy, but Kareena Kapoor is looking self-assured to another laughton “Phir Golmaal”.
“I guess I didn’t have the chance to have fun with my roles before ‘Jab We Met’. That’s why I’m looking forward to ‘Phir Golmaal’. It’s my chance to pull out all stops.”
After playing the free-spirited sardarni (Sikh woman) from Bathinda, Punjab, in “Jab We Met”, she’s all set to do a comedy in the “Golmaal - Fun Unlimited” sequel entitled “Phir Golmaal” where she teams up with Ajay Devgan after the very serious Shakespearean tragedy “Omkara”
The reaction to her performance in comedy film “Jab We Met” has been unique.
“The only other film I’ve felt so good about in recent times is ‘Omkara’. The director Imtiaz Ali has brought out the playful, extroverted side of me. While I was quiet, subdued and withdrawn in ‘Omkara’, in ‘Jab We Met’ I’m in my full elements. This character is really close to my heart. I think from my heart and like to speak my mind openly. And what I liked about this role was the amount of fun we had while travelling and shooting.”
“I think that enjoyment during shooting has shown up on screen. Everyone who has seen ‘Jab We Met’ has been appreciative,” says Kareena.

Preity Zinta: gritty by all means
Preity Zinta is one of the heroine in the Bollywood who has played the unwed mom twice, once at the beginning of her career in “Kya Kehna” and then again in the middle of her career.cheeky “Salaam Namaste” and “Jhoom Barabaar Jhoom” are the midriff of her body of work.
Is Preity seeing Ness Wadia? Of course she is! And she’s certainly not hiding her love under demure pretences. She loves to be in love. And she doesn’t need to hide it. But there’s just that diminutive bit of aloofness and moderation about her personal life.
“It isn’t right for me to let the world know what I’m doing every minute ofthe day. Every human being is entitled to a space where no one comes between me and myself, not even a spouse,” says Preity.
Preity impulsively makes all the right choices in life without compromising with her ideology.
For five years after Mani Ratnam’s “Dil Se†Preity and Shah Rukh didn’t star together because of a difference of opinion.
“My first release ‘Dil Se’ was with him. We didn’t work together thereafter. There was a bit of misapprehension. We weren’t aggressive or anything. We both stood our ground. I think we just let each other be,” Preity told me after she signed “Kal Ho Naa Ho” with Shah Rukh.
Actor, campaigner and newspaper columnist (she was writing a column on the film industry for BBC.com), Preity waltzes through all her roles in life artlessly. Whether playing the martyr in “The Hero” or the vamp in “Armaan”, she seems to enjoy every minute of her character’s survival.
Repressed (”Kal Ho Naa Ho”) or boisterous (”Salaam Namaste”), here’s an actress who knows her mind and workout it constantly to improve herself.
“I love to live for the moment. But I don’t let the moment take over my life. I love a clean city, home and heart, not automatically in that order,” says the bubbly Preity.
