THEY are hep and happening. Queens of the soap and role models to millions of young girls. Over the past more than a year, the small picture tube has been virtually invaded by a new set of young ladies who are setting new fashion styles and social trends.
- These young new divas have not just elbowed out the well-known ones but have made them look like the generation past. Much of the credit must go to, who else? Ekta Kapoor, who has introduced a slew of new ladies who have cast a spell on the Indian audience. Stars who were nobodies till a year or so ago but are top of the pops today.
- The good wife is always in a designer saree, complete with sindoor and mangalsutra. But the fiance can wear jeans and a sleeveless or noodles top. At least that is what the small screen seems to be preaching.
1.Shweta Tiwari
She is leading the band is who has attained heady stardom with her role in Kasautii Zindagi Kay. I would say she is bold, good looking ,tall and has immense screen presence. She can dance well and act too and her dialogue deliverance is quite spontaneous. She has all qualities for the leading heroine in Hindi films.
2. Prachi Desai
If purity needed a synonym in today’s Indian television industry, Prachi Desai would be the top challenger. The 17-year-old actress did wonders with her portrayal of Bani in Kasamh Se and is the undisputed number one actress of 2007. Not only did she elevate the character to a new level, but she also became one of the most popular faces in the industry. Desai is Ekta Kapoor’s latest blue-eyed-girl and there is a lot more expected from her in the years to come.
3. Divyanaga
She is a beauty, pretty and lovely in herself, although I am not watching any of her serials but in between when IÂ see her in Saas Bahu aur Sajish, I have become a fan of her. Recently she won best actress award. She embodies innocence in her looks.
4.Pravina
I dont know her off screen name, but she does a fabulous job in Baa Bahu aur Baby. Rcently her character has been killed in the serial, hope she will get resurrection soon. She is witty and her screen presence is immense and colossal.
5.Lubna
She is the Hema Malini look alike of Baa Bahu aur baby. Somehow even when she does overacting, it is not irritating and the way she portrays the character as the eldest bahu she is marvellous.
6.Richa Gujarati
She used to be the bahu of Babhi, recently has character has been given to somebody else. I always used to feel this girl has immense potential, and that has been materialised, it is learnt that she has signed a film with Abjieet Sawant, the Indian Idol. She performs has role quite candidly.
7.Panchi Vohra
She became a bahu very recently in kayamat, but from the very beginning, I had predicted that she will be the Rani Mukherjee of TV and that has really happened. She is sober, beautiful and with no ommps. Very simple and very innocent.
8.Pallavi
This dark girl fares well in Karam Apna Apna. She fully justifies with her role as a daughter from a lower middle class family , but now a bahu of a very rich family.
9.Sangeeta Ghosh
This lady has vivacious screen presence and recently we saw her in Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand which won her a instant fame.
10.Kavita Nagpal
She plays Rakesh Bedis wife in Office Office. Although she is very plump and old enough for the role she play, but still I like the way she enacts her role. She is simply superb.
Readers now you give your choice of bahus in the TV and let us see which bahu wins the most of the vote.

He won gallantry award from Pandit Jawarhal Lal Nehru at the age of 14, but now at the age of 64, he lives the life of an unsung hero in the by-lanes of Chandi Chowk, Old Delhi, India
- An icon at the age of 14 and an insignificant person at 64. This is Harish Chander Mehra, the first gallantry award winner who now lives unsung in the bylanes of Katra Neel in Chandni Chowk.
- The honour was bestowed on him in 1958 by then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, whose life he had saved. Still then, the awards are now given to children annually on Indian Republic Day and they pass through Rajpath, near India Gate, sitting on an elephant.
- The reminiscences are stamped in Mehra’s heart and the pain of having been elapsed once the short dalliance with famous person’s status died.
- Recollecting the incident Mehra quoted “On October 2, 1957 evening, during the Ram Lila celebrations in Old Delhi’s Ramlila Ground, Nehru along with his daughter, Indira Gandhi and some foreign delegates was watching the fireworks that preceded the function. Suddenly, some sparks fell on the tent in which they were sitting and it caught fire.”
- The congested place had people running haphazardly to accumulate their lives. Mehra, then a boy scout, was standing at the entrance hall of the pergola. He entered the flaming tent and ran near Nehru and instantaneously pulled him in the direction of the dais. In a fraction of seconds, he climbed on to one of the poles, pulled out the scouts’ knife and cut off the burning tent. In the scuffle, Mehra’s hands got rigorously blistered and he gone unconscious.
- Mehra was presented with a certificate on the nexdt morning by Minister Jagjivanram. After three months, while studying in Class 8, his Principal, Tej Bhan Sethi entered the classroom and took the dazed child to the string of media persons and photographers waiting for him on the school grounds.
- In the same year,The following year, a special programme was organised to honour Mehra and he was presented the Gallantry Award by Nehru at Teen Murti Bhawan.
“Nehru had said that I needed no introduction, as he was himself an eyewitness to the whole account. He said it would be better if we could have more children of undoubted courage,” says the shuddering Mehra.
- Newspapers published Mehra’s profiles and interviews. A documentary film was made followed by an invitation to participate in the Republic Day parade held on January 26, 1959. A civilian boy was made to lead the parade for the first time. Five years later, due to economic crisis, Mehra had to quit studies. He took up a job as Lower Divisions Clerk in Union Public Service Commission.
- After few years he was transferred to the Controller of Publications with no incentive and promotion. He retired from there on February 27, 2004.Apart from the populace in close proximity to him, no one ever since remembered Mehra. Every year, Mehra sits with his three sons and four grandchildren to gaze at the Republic Day parade on TV. The award winning children surpass all the way through Rajpath, memoirs draw closer once again for Mr Mehra.

Security cameras caught a strange case of child abuse in a car wash bay at the Magical Car Wash in Orlando. They show a woman spraying a toddler with a high pressure hose while another woman watches. The footage shows the toddler attempt to run away, but she is grabbed and pinned to the wall as she is prayed on the legs, back and even her face. The manager of the car wash didn’t see the abuse until she watched the footage, but she did hear the little girl crying after the incident. She alas heard the woman state, “You’re going to learn to respect me. You don’t treat me bad. You don’t mistreat me; I’m your mother.” Footage also shows the girl being stripped naked, while the two women grabbed a towel and put her back in the car. Once investigators locate the women, they said the mother will likely face child abuse charges.
While I certainly agree that this hose would not be sufficient to do permanent harm to the kid’s skin, it is still certainly strong enough to cause a very high level of pain at that range, much more than a child that age should endure. Children feel pain much more intensely than adults do.

Women are there in all types of job stream, teaching, secretatrial work, police, doctor etc.etc. But her job is different. Meet Bhavna Paliwal of New Delhi is, a private detective being hired by Indian brides to investigate about their suitors.
Bhavna Paliwal, is among one of India’s wedding detectives, who are being hired here in growing numbers to dig out out the truth about prospective mates.
In India, hiring a wedding detective like that of Paliwal has become a familiar prenuptial habit, as important as the heavy wedding gold and the multi-cuisine ten-course meal served on plates.
Confidential detectives are in business in India for several years but today their services are more essential than before. As there is a tremendous enhancement in the business class of Delhi, so is the augment of dowries. Those dowries, in turn, have boosted the encouragement for hoax.
Grooms from United States come in haste, marry, then rush back home with the booty, leaving behind what have become known as “abandoned bridesâ€. Meanwhile, in India, young couples who meet over the internet are getting away with lies that gossip would once have exposed.

- Teenagers who often eat breakfast be likely to weigh less, exercise more and eat a more fit diet than those who miss breakfast.
- Researchers in America followed the diet, weight and other lifestyle patterns of 2,216 adolescents, who were just under 15 years old at the outset, for five years. It was found that the more regularly the teenagers ate breakfast, the lower was their body mass index (BMI). BMI is a measure of body weight relative to height. Those who always skipped breakfast on average weighed about 2.3 kg more than the teenagers who ate the meal every day. This was because of the fact that by heavy their appetites in the morning, breakfast eaters could manage their appetite better all through the day, and thus avoid food binges at lunch or dinner.
- The children who ate breakfast regularly, and chiefly every day, were improved in terms of their overall standard of living. They were found to me more actually active and had a better diet, comprising a lower fat intake, lower cholesterol intake and higher fibre intake.
- The study thus suggest that people who habitually miss a meal are obese than those who eat it recurrently. But the food has to be chosen meaty, for example, adolescent people should not snatch a chocolate-coated doughnut for breakfast or any other meal. They should make healthy choices, for example, team up ready-to-eat breakfast cereals, which are high in sugar, but also rich in fibre and nutrients, with low-fat milk and maybe some fruit or fruit juice.

One of the main legendry story of Valentine’s Day is named after a Roman priest called Valentine in the period of the birth of Christianity in Rome during the third century. The Emperor at that time, Claudius II, regimented the Roman soldiers not to marry or get engaged as he was of the view that an unmarried or affianced man would be more trustworthy to the defence force. Valentine nonetheless, did not accept this as true in this new rule and thus he secretly allowed many to get married and was witness to it. He was in the long run caught, detained and beheaded by the emperor’s supporters. Valentine was beheaded on the 14th February. He was ultimately made a saint and Valentine’s Day is in memory of him.

Valentines Day is basically a Christian festival, occupied by the English folks to America, popularised in America, and the so called privileged Indians, due to their canopy adoration of anything western, singled out this one up also and in full swing started celebrating this. This was further aided by unashamedly western media and the gifts and other related commercial folks - who found a good economic sagacity in encouraging the carnival.
Many times we see anti-Valentines Day protests witnessed annually in India. Hundreds of protests take place across the country on February 14th against the celebration of Valentines Day. Valentines cards were burnt, slogans shouted, and in some cases, couples were beaten up who were found making shows of liking that the protesters deemed out of place. Without knowing the heads and tails of this sacred day, the hindus make a fuss of in all these activities . In Christianity the sacred days of great Saints are celebrated by observing prayers, fasting and feasting. Nowhere it is written that couples should adore on this day or exchange expensive gifts and other paraphernalia associated with it. To know the origins of Valentine day, you have to be a Christian first.
I would say Hindus are a copy cat race or they suffer from failure complex. I am yet to see the Indian Christians or even the English celebrating diwali, holi, navratri or any other hindu festivals , with so much trumpet blast and embellishment, although the English ruled India for 250 years.
If you are really in affection in any kind of relationship, whether it is husband-wife, brother-sister or even in an ordinary friendship you don’t really need any unique day to celebrate.

For Shahjahan and Mumtaz it was a love at first sight, when in the year 1607 when Prince Khurram/Shahjahan of the royal Mughal household was strolling down Meena Bazaar, along with the courtiers, he wedged a glance of a girl Arjumand/Mumtaz Mahal glancing at glass beads. But Shahjahan’s stepmother Noorjehan wanted Shah Jahan to marry her daughter Ladli Begum from her first marriage. Shah Jahan had great conflict with Empress Noorjehan on this issue, but his revolution against his father Jahangir, in 1622, was fruitless.

Shahjahan, however, ascended the throne on his father’s death in 1627. At his juncture he married his dream girl at a time when Princes never married only for love. Other than Mumtaz, Shah Jahan had two wives and out of them Mumtaz was his true love. She gave birth to 14 out of his 16 children. Mumtaz Mahal obsessed immense supremacy authority and self-respect in her etiquette. Until her death, she was Shah Jahan’s undividable mate and psychoanalyst.
While breathing her last, Mumtaz Mahal took a promise from her beloved to build an structure in reminiscence of their love. This was the cause of work of a monument that still to draw millions of lovers even today.
The monument environment eventually became Sha Jahan’s prison as his son, Aurangzeb, detained the throne and caged his father for the last eight years of his life. When Shah Jahan was on his deathbed, his eyes was constantly glancing at Taj Mahal where lied his beloved. After his death, Shah Jahan was buried there beside his dead queen, Mumtaz Mahal. Before returning to India and setting up his company Infosys, its Chairman Mr. Narayanmurthy worked in Bulgeria. He had a very horrific time during his preceding days of staying there. Civil war cropped up there and Mr. Murthy had to proceed to his homeland. The money he possessed was also limited. He somehow caught a train to Paris. In the train journey he got acquainted with a girl and started conversing with her in French.

Thinking that they were talking against communism, the Communist soldiers on the platform seized and put him into jail. When the soldiers were sure that he is in Indian and thus they allowed to him after 48 hours. Two days of hunger and a long walk on the highway to grab hold of some transport to railways, he learnt his lesson of life.
It was at this time that he decided that not communalism but free enterprise with a flexible bend for ill-fated will resolve the predicament and removal of poverty to an extent.
