And now the hunt for the leading lady is over, ramp model Anushka Sharma, 21, standing tall with a height of 5.9” from Bangalore will make her silver screen debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Yashraj movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Earlier, it was reported that Sonam Kapoor, daughter of Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor would be cast opposite SRK. Yash Chopra said, “We were looking first and foremost for someone who could truly embody the spirit of small town Punjab and we know we have found her in Anushka. And while she has no previous acting experience, we have seen that unique spark in her that makes us confident that she will be a standout even opposite Shah Rukh.”
Rab ne Bana di Jodi will go on the floors on May 16 and will hit theatres worldwide in December 2008.

Ekta Kapoor ,Television queen and Suneil Shetty’s company are set to come together and make a biopic on Haji Mastan, the smuggler who made news in the 70s.

Though both sources are silent at the moment, sources reveal that work on the script for the Haji Mastan film is on. Mahesh Manjrekar, a close friend of Suniel’s, has been purportedly roped into direct the film. The film on the smuggler-turned politician is expected to give Manjrekar’s erstwhile defunct career a boost.
The big question doing the rounds is which actor will be considered for the role of the celebrated Haji Mastan. The names that are being thrown around in the ring are Mithun Chakraborty and Pankaj Kapur. No one has been finalized as yet, though.
In 1975, Amitabh Bachchan had played a Haji Mastan motivated character in Yash Chopra’s Deewar. So this will not be the first instance that Haji Mastan has enthused someone to make a film on his life.

Madhuri Dixit according to the grapevine is not pleased with her comeback film ‘Aaja Nachle’ will nevertheless be in Mumbai to promote it after Yash Chopra convinced her to do so.
The actor, who lives in the US, was in Mumbai Wednesday to attend the promotional events for ‘Aaja Nachle’ that releases Nov 30, Chopra said here on Tuesday during a visit to accept the Zenith Asia award for his contribution to cinema at a ceremony organised by the National Films Archives of India.
It seems that, the actress felt Yash Raj Films did not deliver the promised goods and therefore refused to promote ‘Aaja Nachle’.
Chopra, who gave her a makeover in his super hit ‘Dil To Paagal Hai’, had a tough time convincing her to change her mind.
While the first look of the film was revealed first during the screening of Chak De India, the promotion is now seeing a satellite kick start on a rocking note with the teasers dominating all the music channels.
The teasers are to the point and straight and simple as they highlight Madhuri Dixit being back in the thick of things. Her costume is just right for the occasion (i.e. a comeback) while whatever is revealed of the music and dance movements makes you ask for more. Moreover, a quick foretaste of her smile is an adequate amount of pleasure to make one look forward to this Anil Mehta film which for the moment is the solitary release on 30th November.
To begin with Madhuri Dixit, the dancing sensation with a million dollar smile will appear in the coming episode of Nach Baliye-3 in Star Plus to dance with the contestants.
Yes, that’s the magic of Madhur Dixit, her name and smile itself will work wonders.
A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.
