She played an angel in ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’, and now actress Rani Mukerji will be attempting another exceptional role as she plays a cricketer in Yash Raj Films’ next venture, hence she is busy active on the field.
‘I don’t know if any actress has played a cricketer before. But I’m playing one for sure. In fact, I’ve been learning cricket regularly on the field for the past two months. I can most certainly play the game convincingly now, though not as good as professionals yet. It’s a very big challenge for me,‘ Rani informed.
Her male lead will be Shahid Kapur with whom she will be making a maiden move.
‘Also, for the first time I was playing a character who couldn’t cry. Now they can stop saying Rani cries so much in all her films. It was pretty cool to play a character who actually doesn’t know how to cry and who had to fly around like Hrithik Roshan in ‘Krrish’.’ Said the amused Rani.
‘It required a lot of physical strength to assume the correct ‘flying’ posture on the harness. I guess it’d be equally difficult for me to look convincing as a cricketer. But I’m glad to be doing work with challenges.’
On being asked is she not worried over being the eternal Yash Raj heroine , Rani said winking that ‘Why? Wasn’t ‘Saawariya’ with Sanjay Leela Bhansali? And if Yash Raj is making some of the best films in our country why should I keep out just because people are talking?
Rani is troubled over her hype on marriage by the media, so she deceitfully asked ‘Incidentally, my marriage date Feb 10 (as reported by some media) has come and gone. Would mediapersons like to set another date for me so I can start getting my trousseau ready?’

Dubai, Jun 12 (PTI) Bollywood’s biggest entertainment house, Yash Raj Films, will in the near future launch a multi-billion-dollar theme park in the United Arab Emirates in association with a leading investment company over here.
The theme park, Yash Raj Films Entertainment District, would contain a movie palace, unique hotel and a number of Indian genre entertainment concepts. Yash Chopra has hailed the partnership with Dubai Infinity Holdings, saying it will make their foothold stronger in the Gulf region with Dubai aiming to be the most visited destination in the world by year 2015. “All the components of the Yash Raj District will be themed around the Yash Raj banner,” the ‘Khaleej Times’ quoted Yash Chopra as saying. The YRF brand is behind the success of South Asian blockbusters such as Veer Zara, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, Chak De India, in addition to the timeless classics, Kabhie Kabhie and Silsila. Commenting on the partnership, DIH Chief Executive Officer Samira Abdulrazza said, “This is both an encouraging and exciting step for us. Bringing such an honoured name into the UAE has been a strategic move as it attracts the core demographic of the country. “Furthermore, Indian cinema has an increased general following within the region, as cinema statistics highlight that Bollywood films gross higher than Western films. This will be a one-of-a-kind partnership here in the UAE, which we are very proud to be associated with.” The first phase of the Yash Raj Entertainment District is scheduled to be completed by 2012. According to grapevine, King Khan will be seen with Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor in the forthcoming movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi by Yash Raj Films directed by Aditya Chopra. Deepika’s love interest will be SRK, but SRK’s heart has been stolen by a village belly Sonam. SRK will enact the role of an NRI who returns to his country wherein he find the village girl. Since both girls are not in best of their terms {following the Ranbir Kapoor breakups), the off-screen sparks will be more interesting to watch than the onscreen ones.
Tashan is a impending Bollywood film starring Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. It is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya who wrote the screenplay and dialogues for hits like Dhoom and Dhoom 2. The film will be produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra under Yash Raj Films and is planned for a release in April 25th, 2008.

Where the shooting was done
In June 2007, the cast began filming in Kerala, and continued shooting in Laddakh and Rajasthan. Pictures of Khan and Kareena Kapoor were taken in September 2007 while shooting for the film in the Fort area of Mumbai. Some portions of the film were later shot in the city of Haridwar on the banks of the river Ganges and Greece.

Yash Raj’s all movies are not a hit like Chak De, his Laaga Chunri Me Daag went into melancholy, this movie may be liked by a certain section of masses, but it may not be family movie due to hypered thunderous scenes, as Kareena and Saif’s chemistry is on full scale. On a scale of 10, a rating of 7 may be given.
