Touch me not pleassss

Nana Patekar, on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss , passed a critical statement on Tanushree’s outfit and she got annoyed. The result: Rakhi has replaced Tanushree Dutta

Sarang, the Producer of the movie established the news and said, “Tanushree refused to attend the rehearsals and wanted to start shooting the song directly. She also insisted that the song should be picturised only on her.”

But Tanushree trying to camouflage the issue said, “Yes, there was an issue on the sets, but I didn’t want to take this to the media. Is there anything wrong with that? But the electronic media was adamant on getting bytes from me and in the fracas, my car was damaged. Moreover, if I wanted to throw tantrums, I would have thrown them on the very first day and not waited for the last day of the shoot. I rehearsed for five days for the song and was well prepared for it.”
A source close to the actress made known, “When the filmmakers had approached Tanushree for the item number, she had not only confirmed the design of her costume, but also the dance steps for the song. But she was shocked when she learnt that the dance involved intimate touching, which was not acceptable to her.”
In the meantime, when asked about the confrontation, Rakhi said, “Rakesh Sarang felt that I was the right person for the song so I agreed to do it. I have great regard for Nana Patekar.”

Hijack the movie: Revisiting Kandahar

MUMBAI (Reuters) - A new Bollywood film about a plane hijacking involving a separatist militant outfit echoes the real life hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999.

Hijack the movie: Revisiting Kandahar

But "Hijack", directed by Kunal Shivdasani, will focus on a rescue operation conducted by lead actor Shiney Ahuja inside the aircraft -- something that did not happen in the Kandahar case.

"It may seem similar to that of the Kandahar hijacking case but 'Hijack' is a purely fictional film," Shivdasani told Reuters.

"We are not pointing fingers at the Kandahar hijackers or which group was responsible behind the incident."

Five armed men hijacked the Airbus A-300 carrying 189 passengers and crew between Kathmandu and New Delhi on Christmas Eve in 1999. The plane touched down in western India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates before landing in Kandahar in Afghanistan.

The hijackers killed one passenger early in the week-long stand-off, but the remaining passengers and crew walked free after India released three Kashmir separatist militants from jail.

India said the hijackers, who were never caught, were all Pakistani and accused Pakistan's government of complicity in the hijacking, charges it denied.

British-born Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh, one of the freed militants, was later convicted and sentenced to death by a Pakistani court for his role in the murder in 2002 of Daniel Pearl, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal.

"My film is thoroughly commercial and if people come to watch my film due to similarity of the film's plot to that of Kandahar incident, (it's) good for us," Shivdasani said.

Women’s Day, 8th March , Bollywood Babes talk to us

Bollywood's leading ladies say they have never felt mediocre to men and mull over opportunities are escalating for women in the country.
On Womens Day today i.e. 8th March,2008 ,BestDesi.com asked Bollywood stars on what they feel being a woman , this is what they opined:

Shilpa Shetty:Shilpa Shetty As a woman I've nothing to grumble about. Today when I go abroad I'm proud to symbolize my film fraternity, my gender, my country and myself. I guess I've been singularly lucky. I realize there're so many women in our country who are still aggressive to earn a living. But I think things are varying very fast. Opportunities for women aren't incomplete any longer.

Hema Malini: Hema Malini  I'm proud to be a woman and an Indian. With the prominence that I've achieved I've no problem getting what I want. But I know it isn't so with a lot of women in our country. I sympathize with their distress and I do want to work towards getting better their lot. That's one of the reasons I joined politics.

Ekta Kapoor : Ekta Kapoor Being a woman is no annoyance. Though I won't say it's an benefit either in today's India - at least not in the corporate world. Yet lots of women in rural India are made to believe they're deprived by their gender. Yes gender bias is fading. I think our inherent advantage as women is that we're stronger than men even though we're more perceptive.

Bipasha Basu:  Bipasha Basu  The new Indian woman cuts across all age groups and class structures. We acclimatize better to situation because we are not playing by the rules of others. We are flexible and are able to bounce back from every prospect. I know women who go to work, take care of house and home, and be mothers without breaking a step. I don't know many men who can do that. Somehow we never tire out ourselves as much in the place of work as men do.

Breakfast must for keeping slim ,trim and fit

  • Teenagers who often eat breakfast be likely to weigh less, exercise more and eat a more fit diet than those who miss breakfast.
  • Researchers in America followed the diet, weight and other lifestyle patterns of 2,216 adolescents, who were just under 15 years old at the outset, for five years. It was found that the more regularly the teenagers ate breakfast, the lower was their body mass index (BMI). BMI is a measure of body weight relative to height. Those who always skipped breakfast on average weighed about 2.3 kg more than the teenagers who ate the meal every day. This was because of the fact that by heavy their appetites in the morning, breakfast eaters could manage their appetite better all through the day, and thus avoid food binges at lunch or dinner.
  • The children who ate breakfast regularly, and chiefly every day, were improved in terms of their overall standard of living. They were found to me more actually active and had a better diet, comprising a lower fat intake, lower cholesterol intake and higher fibre intake.
  • The study thus suggest that people who habitually miss a meal are obese than those who eat it recurrently. But the food has to be chosen meaty, for example, adolescent people should not snatch a chocolate-coated doughnut for breakfast or any other meal. They should make healthy choices, for example, team up ready-to-eat breakfast cereals, which are high in sugar, but also rich in fibre and nutrients, with low-fat milk and maybe some fruit or fruit juice.
