We Are Family – Theatrical Trailer

Since Kajol is pregnant and will be unable to travel, only Kareena will promote We Are Family
While the film will have both women sharing responsibilities, Karan Johar's next We Are Family, will have only Kareena Kapoor and not Kajol touring the country for promotions. That's because Kajol is expecting her second baby and will be in no position to travel so much at that time.
The film, which is thew Hindi remake of the Susan Sarandon starrer Stepmom, will release on Eid, this September. Unfortunately, for Karan Johar and Dharma Productions, Kajol will be unavailable around that time for a major part of the promotions.
Our source said, "UTV and Dharma Productions are planning different marketing strategies for the promotions because Kajol won't be available. Kareena will have to go for all the city tours that the team plans. It is unfair to ask Kajol to travel and promote the film as she is expecting. Kareena is helping in her absence by giving out bulk dates. Kareena has told Karan that she will be available for all the promotional activities. The film is very close to her heart."
When contacted, Siddarth Malhotra, the director of the film said, "Yes the film is releasing on Eid.It is everybody’s film and all the actors would be present whenever they are available. Expecting Kajol to travel everywhere is asking a bit too much."

Saif gets his good reason to be back in Bollywood

Saif Ali Khan

The long journey of Saif Ali Khan-  from the soiled bud of a nawab family to one of Bollywood's largely multitalented actors and a serious challenger for the No.1 dot, he has truly emerged successful at the turnstiles.
After Saif's debut in Umesh Mehra's "Aashiq Awara" a well-known columnist wrote, "Put a dupatta on Saif's head and he looks like Sharmila Tagore."
But reacting to comments of that sort  Saif said recently, "My detractors and their harsh comments have been my greatest incentive to prove myself."
Saif almost always ends every scrutiny cautiously. No wonder it took him so long to appreciate his importance. "But do I really know my worth today?"
Yes, Saif has his mother Sharmila Tagore. But moms, as experience tells us, don't count in Bollywood. If they did, Nutan's son Mohnish Behl would've been the hugest superstar on the block.
There're stories about how insecure he would get on the sets of Karan Johar's "Kal Ho Naa Ho". But Saif denies them.
saif says, "You know I get paranoid about every movie. I knew from the start that Shah Rukh would be the pivot of the film. But I knew I had great lines and a great role. I was never made to feel Shah Rukh was more important to the project. I went with very clear expectations. It was a civilised unit. Everyone was young and fun. I didn't feel like an outsider at all. I never did, though I was from outside Mumbai."
Now, the actor seems to be enjoying his newfound status as a leading man to the hilt.
"Omkara" was definitely a new beginning. When Vishal Bahradwaj zeroed in on him to play the Indian Iago, Saif was, as usual, unsure. He never says an outright yes to any role, not even when it comes to a film like Farhan Akhtar's "Dil Chahta Hai". That film clearly was the turning point in his career.
Siddharth Anand, Saif’s good friend, gave Saif's career as a leading man a extra enhance with "Salaam Namaste". Siddharth thinks Saif is continuously doing roles that confront him to make his existence felt.
Living in the moment he is more peaceful than ever before and hogging the public interest for his suspected issue with Kareena Kapoor.
"On the sets of 'Omkara' people would say there were four National Award winners. My first impulse would be to wonder who was the fourth after Vishal, Ajay Devgan and Konkona Sen. Then I'd realise, 'Oh shit, the fourth National Award winner is actually me!'"
Saif has the final word. "I may seem like a bundle of contradictions most of the time. But there's a method to my madness which is apparent only to me a lot of times."

Kareena thrilled about jump from gloomy to smirk

Kareena Kapoor

Critics are rampant about her new film "Jab We Met", a full-on comedy, but Kareena Kapoor is looking self-assured to another laughton "Phir Golmaal".
"I guess I didn't have the chance to have fun with my roles before 'Jab We Met'. That's why I'm looking forward to 'Phir Golmaal'. It's my chance to pull out all stops."
After playing the free-spirited sardarni (Sikh woman) from Bathinda, Punjab, in "Jab We Met", she's all set to do a comedy in the "Golmaal - Fun Unlimited" sequel entitled "Phir Golmaal" where she teams up with Ajay Devgan after the very serious Shakespearean tragedy "Omkara"
The reaction to her performance in comedy film "Jab We Met" has been unique.
"The only other film I've felt so good about in recent times is 'Omkara'. The director Imtiaz Ali has brought out the playful, extroverted side of me. While I was quiet, subdued and withdrawn in 'Omkara', in 'Jab We Met' I'm in my full elements. This character is really close to my heart. I think from my heart and like to speak my mind openly. And what I liked about this role was the amount of fun we had while travelling and shooting."
"I think that enjoyment during shooting has shown up on screen. Everyone who has seen 'Jab We Met' has been appreciative," says Kareena.

Preity Zinta: gritty by all means

Preity_zinta

Preity Zinta is one of the heroine in the Bollywood who has played the unwed mom twice, once at the beginning of her career in "Kya Kehna" and then again in the middle of her career.cheeky "Salaam Namaste" and "Jhoom Barabaar Jhoom" are the midriff of her body of work.
Is Preity seeing Ness Wadia? Of course she is! And she's certainly not hiding her love under demure pretences. She loves to be in love. And she doesn't need to hide it. But there's just that diminutive bit of aloofness and moderation about her personal life.
"It isn't right for me to let the world know what I'm doing every minute ofthe day. Every human being is entitled to a space where no one comes between me and myself, not even a spouse," says Preity.
Preity impulsively makes all the right choices in life without compromising with her ideology.
For five years after Mani Ratnam's "Dil Se” Preity and Shah Rukh didn't star together because of a difference of opinion.
"My first release 'Dil Se' was with him. We didn't work together thereafter. There was a bit of misapprehension. We weren't aggressive or anything. We both stood our ground. I think we just let each other be," Preity told me after she signed "Kal Ho Naa Ho" with Shah Rukh.
Actor, campaigner and newspaper columnist (she was writing a column on the film industry for BBC.com), Preity waltzes through all her roles in life artlessly. Whether playing the martyr in "The Hero" or the vamp in "Armaan", she seems to enjoy every minute of her character's survival.
Repressed ("Kal Ho Naa Ho") or boisterous ("Salaam Namaste"), here's an actress who knows her mind and workout it constantly to improve herself.
"I love to live for the moment. But I don't let the moment take over my life. I love a clean city, home and heart, not automatically in that order," says the bubbly Preity.

Karan Johar to host ‘Say Shaava Shaava’ in NDTV

Another reality show is in the anvil and as NDTV Imagine and Contiloe present a new musical entertainer, ‘Say Shaava Shaava’ from January 2008. Karan Johar will be the judge. Ali Asgar will be the host the show.

 [singlepic=149,320,240,,]

At the launching of the show, CEO, NDTV Imagine, Sameer Nair said, “We promised you freshness and innovation and we’re delivering that promise. ‘Say Shaava Shaava’ is an outright entertainer. The contestants are established stars, who will use all their talent to impress Karan and the audiences. We’re thrilled to have Karan on the show and I’m certain that he will bring his own brand of entertainment to his role as judge.”

Indiscreetly, on his new facade as a judge, Karan Johar said, “It’s great to be back on television, albeit in a new avatar. It’s something I haven’t done before and I’m really looking forward to it. A word of advice to the 8 contestants – I’m looking to be entertained and delighted with every performance, so give me all that you’ve got!”

The participants include Aman Verma, Apurva Agnihotri, Divyanka Tripathi, Juhi Parmar, Mouni Roy, Narayani Shastri, Pulkit Samrat and Sumeet Raghvan.

“This is something different from our daily routine and it keeps me fresh. I’m here to learn something not to win. The hectic shooting schedules do not allow me to rehearse but I’m trying my level best,” alleges Divyanka.

Sumeet who was most recently seen in Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai is also very energised with his new venture on Imagine. “There are two reasons for taking up the shows. Firstly it’s related to music and secondly all the telly stars are going to share space. I’ll be singing after seventeen years so it’s very exciting and at the same time I’ll be able to meet different actors,” he explains.

“I liked the concept of the show. The way Imagine has launched the show and the overall presentation looks fresh and exhilarating. I use to sing here and there but this is going to be the first time that I will sing on such a big platform. There is nervousness but I’m thrilled. I feel I’m in a creative process,” the Bengal beauty Mouni Roy reacted when asked by bestdesi.com.

As audiences confound to gear up and catch another different reality show ,we do trust this is the greatest foreman of them all.

The offensive lyrics of Aaja Nachle

Within hours of its release on 30th Nov, 2007, Actor Madhuri Dixit's comeback movie Aaja Nachle had hit a erroneous note.

  • · Producers of Madhuri Dixit 's comeback film Aaja Nachle , ran into a hullabaloo over its title song, later apologised for the lyrics and said that immediate action has been taken to remove the objectionable words.
  • · The instructions to remove the offending lyrics in the title song of the film had been sent to all distributors and exhibitors on Friday night and will not be heard in theatres from Saturday, a release from film's producer Yashraj Films stated in Mumbai.

The prohibited lines are:

“Bazar me machi he maramar; bole mochi bhi khud ko sunhar”

(There is so much chaos in the market that even a cobbler is calling himself a jeweller)…

  • · In New Delhi, activists of a Dalit outfit Indian Justice Party on Friday staged a demonstration against the movie alleging that the lyrics of a song hurt the Dalits. They found a line from the title track offensive and besieged movie halls showing the film and publicity material.
  • · That was good enough for UP Chief Minister Mayawati to revoke the ban, although Haryana and Punjab still haven't allowed it to be screened. The team behind the film also apologised at a press conference in Mumbai.
  • "Nobody had any intentions of hurting or ridiculing anyone and nobody on the Censor Board saw it that way," said script writer
  • Jaideep Sahni.
  • · But that didn't gratify everyone. In Mumbai, Shiv Sena protested at a theatre while RPI leader Ramdas Athawale asked for the producer, director, writer and lyricist of the film to be charged under the Atrocity Act.
  • · The Minorities Commission also jumped in, saying the words used are unconstitutional. The film however, received support from directors and viewers alike.
  • "I saw the film and absolutely loved it. I think there is a cultural message," said filmmaker Karan Johar.
  • · While controversy is not new to Bollywood films, this is something that even the makers of the movie may not have bargained for.
  • · The controversial lyrics has since been removed.
  • · And Madhuri Dixit has packed her luggage and proceeded to US in a distress state.
