After his hit rap stint alongside American rapper Snoop Dog in Singh Is Kinng, Akshay Kumar is planning to rap again with British rapper Bohemia in his next film Chandni Chowk To China. And we hear Akki is mulling over putting all that singing experience into a music album very soon.
Says a mole, "Akshay is planning to cut a music album as a singer. He has also met music composer Sandeep Chowta to discuss on this issue, not once but many a time." The source close to the actor also adds, "Akki feels that he has a great voice and he can sing well. Hence he wants to give it a try." (Perhaps Akshay wants to prove that he is a 'king' of all trades).
Though when asked, his secretary says that he is unaware of any such development. "I have no knowledge about this," said Akshay's secretary. Just to refresh your memory, the actor had sung a devotional song 'Nirgun Rakh Liya' two years back which was received very well.
The song had a video shot in Punjab and was dedicated to the victims of the 11/7 train blasts. Rap on, Akki!

Significance of Lohri and Pongal
Lohri is a festival connected with the solar year In the night, winter savouries are served around a bonfire. Celebrated devotedly in Haryana, Punjab and parts of Himachal Pradesh, it also signifies the beginning of the end of winter.
Children visit homes in the neighbourhood and sing songs. One of the famous ones is :
Sunder mundriya..ho, Tera kaun vichara..ho
Dulla Bhatti walla..ho, Dulle ne ti viahiyi..ho
Saer Shakar payi..ho, Kudi de boje payee..ho
Shallu kaun samete..ho, Chacha galee dese..ho
Chache choori kutee..ho, Zamindaran lutee..ho
Zamindara sidaye..ho, Gin-gin pole layee..ho
Ik pola reh gaya..ho, Sipahi farh ke lei gaya..ho
Aakho mundao taana.., Mukai da dana..
Aana lei ke jana..
A bonfire is lit and everyone gathers around it. Snacks, collected from each house, go around the party and are also thrown into the fire.
A trendy belief in this region is that if someone seeks a radish roasted in the bonfire lit by a family that has reason to make merry, then blessings are bestowed on the family of the seeker as well.
Geographically speaking, the earth leans towards the sun along the Tropic of Capricorn (Makara rekha) from the day following Lohri, also known as Winter Solstice. The earth, farthest from the sun at this point of time, starts its journey towards the sun along its elliptical orbit, thus heralding in the onset of spring. It is this transition which is celebrated as Lohri in northern India, Makara sankranti in the central part of the country and as Pongal-Sankranti in South India.
The festival is extended over three days in South India and also signifies the commencement of harvesting. A rath yatra is taken out from the Kandaswamy temple in Chennai on Pongal.
The day is celebrated as Ganga-Sagara in West Bengal and according a belief, Hindus purify their sins by taking bath in the Ganges. A big fair is also held on the Sagara Island, 64 km from the Diamond harbour where the Ganga meets the Bay of Bengal.
Call it Lohri, Pongal or Sankranti, the festival conveys the same message -- the bond of brotherhood and the strength of oneness should triumph in spite of all probability.

The long journey of Saif Ali Khan- from the soiled bud of a nawab family to one of Bollywood's largely multitalented actors and a serious challenger for the No.1 dot, he has truly emerged successful at the turnstiles.
After Saif's debut in Umesh Mehra's "Aashiq Awara" a well-known columnist wrote, "Put a dupatta on Saif's head and he looks like Sharmila Tagore."
But reacting to comments of that sort Saif said recently, "My detractors and their harsh comments have been my greatest incentive to prove myself."
Saif almost always ends every scrutiny cautiously. No wonder it took him so long to appreciate his importance. "But do I really know my worth today?"
Yes, Saif has his mother Sharmila Tagore. But moms, as experience tells us, don't count in Bollywood. If they did, Nutan's son Mohnish Behl would've been the hugest superstar on the block.
There're stories about how insecure he would get on the sets of Karan Johar's "Kal Ho Naa Ho". But Saif denies them.
saif says, "You know I get paranoid about every movie. I knew from the start that Shah Rukh would be the pivot of the film. But I knew I had great lines and a great role. I was never made to feel Shah Rukh was more important to the project. I went with very clear expectations. It was a civilised unit. Everyone was young and fun. I didn't feel like an outsider at all. I never did, though I was from outside Mumbai."
Now, the actor seems to be enjoying his newfound status as a leading man to the hilt.
"Omkara" was definitely a new beginning. When Vishal Bahradwaj zeroed in on him to play the Indian Iago, Saif was, as usual, unsure. He never says an outright yes to any role, not even when it comes to a film like Farhan Akhtar's "Dil Chahta Hai". That film clearly was the turning point in his career.
Siddharth Anand, Saif’s good friend, gave Saif's career as a leading man a extra enhance with "Salaam Namaste". Siddharth thinks Saif is continuously doing roles that confront him to make his existence felt.
Living in the moment he is more peaceful than ever before and hogging the public interest for his suspected issue with Kareena Kapoor.
"On the sets of 'Omkara' people would say there were four National Award winners. My first impulse would be to wonder who was the fourth after Vishal, Ajay Devgan and Konkona Sen. Then I'd realise, 'Oh shit, the fourth National Award winner is actually me!'"
Saif has the final word. "I may seem like a bundle of contradictions most of the time. But there's a method to my madness which is apparent only to me a lot of times."

Kareena thrilled about jump from gloomy to smirk
Critics are rampant about her new film "Jab We Met", a full-on comedy, but Kareena Kapoor is looking self-assured to another laughton "Phir Golmaal".
"I guess I didn't have the chance to have fun with my roles before 'Jab We Met'. That's why I'm looking forward to 'Phir Golmaal'. It's my chance to pull out all stops."
After playing the free-spirited sardarni (Sikh woman) from Bathinda, Punjab, in "Jab We Met", she's all set to do a comedy in the "Golmaal - Fun Unlimited" sequel entitled "Phir Golmaal" where she teams up with Ajay Devgan after the very serious Shakespearean tragedy "Omkara"
The reaction to her performance in comedy film "Jab We Met" has been unique.
"The only other film I've felt so good about in recent times is 'Omkara'. The director Imtiaz Ali has brought out the playful, extroverted side of me. While I was quiet, subdued and withdrawn in 'Omkara', in 'Jab We Met' I'm in my full elements. This character is really close to my heart. I think from my heart and like to speak my mind openly. And what I liked about this role was the amount of fun we had while travelling and shooting."
"I think that enjoyment during shooting has shown up on screen. Everyone who has seen 'Jab We Met' has been appreciative," says Kareena.

Preity Zinta: gritty by all means
Preity Zinta is one of the heroine in the Bollywood who has played the unwed mom twice, once at the beginning of her career in "Kya Kehna" and then again in the middle of her career.cheeky "Salaam Namaste" and "Jhoom Barabaar Jhoom" are the midriff of her body of work.
Is Preity seeing Ness Wadia? Of course she is! And she's certainly not hiding her love under demure pretences. She loves to be in love. And she doesn't need to hide it. But there's just that diminutive bit of aloofness and moderation about her personal life.
"It isn't right for me to let the world know what I'm doing every minute ofthe day. Every human being is entitled to a space where no one comes between me and myself, not even a spouse," says Preity.
Preity impulsively makes all the right choices in life without compromising with her ideology.
For five years after Mani Ratnam's "Dil Se†Preity and Shah Rukh didn't star together because of a difference of opinion.
"My first release 'Dil Se' was with him. We didn't work together thereafter. There was a bit of misapprehension. We weren't aggressive or anything. We both stood our ground. I think we just let each other be," Preity told me after she signed "Kal Ho Naa Ho" with Shah Rukh.
Actor, campaigner and newspaper columnist (she was writing a column on the film industry for BBC.com), Preity waltzes through all her roles in life artlessly. Whether playing the martyr in "The Hero" or the vamp in "Armaan", she seems to enjoy every minute of her character's survival.
Repressed ("Kal Ho Naa Ho") or boisterous ("Salaam Namaste"), here's an actress who knows her mind and workout it constantly to improve herself.
"I love to live for the moment. But I don't let the moment take over my life. I love a clean city, home and heart, not automatically in that order," says the bubbly Preity.

Khoya Khoya Chand heroine Soha Ali Khan will be seen with her actress mother Sharmila Tagore(Chairperson- Film Division of India) in the coming episode of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, in Sony TV. The theme of the episode will be 1950-60 style, hence the dance, style, fashion and romance of that era will be displayed by the contestants. By next week the 2 eligible jodis to the final round will be announced.
Prachi Desai will be performing a sensuous performance of cabaret in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa . She is in cloud nine these days as she got the ticket to Bollywood. She will be acting opposite Farhan Akthar, Javed Akthar’s son in film, the shooting of which is commencing very soon.
On Friday 7th December,2007, in Nach Baliye-3 Star Plus, we can see all the contestants in kids theme. They will dance like kids and hence they can be seen in baba dress. Even the host and the hostess will be seen in school uniforms. The final battle for the crown and car will be held on 22nd December,2007.
Ever imagined, who will be the host for the Amul Star Voice of India, Chotte Ustad, it is none other than Abhaas who was the third finalist for the Amul SVOI. Abhas does not possess the right spirit for anchoring the show, he will look like a comic strip on stage, he does not have the body language , nor powerful screen presence. It is wondered as to why he was offered the post when there were so many other able and eligible contestants in the earlier show, or was Gajendra Singh, the maker of the show Amul Star Voice of India, was under pressure to retain Abhaas!
