SRK’s elevated observations on IPL
Shah Rukh feels cricket is commercially doable and will reverse to essentials if cricket fails.
Shah Rukh Khan remarked that the opportunity to make money from cricket and then promoting it to other sports was the main raison d'être for him to get implicated with the Cricket Board-promoted Indian Premier League.
"Commerce and business are very important in today's world. Cricket is commercially viable and we need to make money from this sport," alleged the actor, who has bought the Kolkata franchise of the IPL, in Pune.
Shahrukh said this in the presence of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President and MP Suresh Kalmadi who, in turn, requested the superstar to share his icon status with other sports also.
"I am very happy with `Chak de India' and the work you did for hockey. But I'm disappointed you went back to cricket. I want you to be made the ambassador of the Commonweath Games and Olympic sports in India," assumed Kalmadi at the inauguration of the Abhijit Kadam Memorial Football Cup.
"There are around 10 nations playing cricket at the moment and over 200 countries competiting in Olympic sports. Cricket has many fathers and I would love to have you as the brand ambassador for the Commonwealth Games," he supplemented.
However, the annotations did not go healthy with the actor, who took a sneer at the IOA President. "Please don't feel bad that I am backing only one sport. Sports should be part of our second nature and I am a sportsperson by heart," he held.
"My next step would be to take it money earned in IPL to hockey, football, kho kho, also kabaddi and gulli danda," said SRK fudging.

When the Badshah was asked about his opinion, to be categorized as number two, SRK whispered: I just want to tell you, Aamir is a dear friend of mine and I consider it a compliment for him, oops sorry, compliment for me, that was a genuine slip of tongue. It is indeed a great compliment that he at least considers me second to him.â€Â
King Khan also exposed that he can’t say anything against Aamir as he doesn’t want to upset his wife Gauri Khan , who is a great fan of Aamir, “I and Aamir are completely opposite persons. He is an intelligent, intellectual person whereas I am more of an instinctive man. He does more of the thinking and I do more of the acting.â€Â
SRK also made known that since both of them are ‘Khans’ they have great regard for each other, “We are very good friends and we both have a good sense of humour. I know his jokes and he knows mine. And, he is hundred per cent No. 1.â€Â
The King Khan ended it up on a humorous note and said, “I said I love K-K-K-K-K-Kiran and he really loves K-K-K-K-K-Kiran.â€
That’s the way, King Khan, as a down to earth person, you have shown Amir his line of attack and that too in a supple way.
