Akshay Kumar Arrested for get himself unbuttoned by wife Twinkle
Mar 31, 2009: Akshay Kumar is one of the few actors from Bollywood who know well how to remain in public eye all the time and his recent stunt only underlines the fact.
Walking for designer Tarun Tahiliani at Lakme Fashion Week on ramp to promote Levi's jeans recently, Akshay surprised everybody present at the show by making his wife Twinkle to unzip his pant.
Setting the ramp on fire, the Singh is Kinng star Akshay stopped before Twinkle and asked her to unbutton his jeans.
The erstwhile actress went blushing and then shrunk a bit. However, Akshay pursued her to do the act, leaving eyes of the spectators popped up.
Khiladi star Akshay was reportedly paid Rs 1.2 crore to do the act.
Film star Akshay Kumar was arrested on Monday (May 18) morning by the police in Mumbai in connection with obscene behaviour in public during the recent Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW), a senior police official said.
"We arrested him under Indian Penal Code Section 294, which deals with obscenity in public. Since it is a bailable offence, he was released on bail," said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Arvind Mahabadhi.
During the LIFW in early April, while walking the ramp for Levi’s, Akshay had walked up to his wife Twinkle, who was sitting in the front row, and got her to unbutton his jeans.
Akshay's unbuttoning act had kicked up a storm with some private individuals lodging police complaints, accusing Akshay of immoral and indecent behaviour in public.
Akshay had been away from India since that incident and has just returned to Mumbai today after the long schedule abroad.
ACP Mahabadhi said that now the case would be further investigated and depending on the outcome, a charge-sheet would be filed against the star.
Another controversy that Akki has landed into is over a dialogue in the film “Kambakkht Ishq”.
In one of the scenes he says “women are good only for one thing”.
There has been a huge objection to this from social groups who say the statement is highly obscene and disrespectful of women.
Akshay has clarified that his character in the film is of a bad man who has no respect for women, so the dialogue has been penned accordingly.

Isha Sherwani selected for Ajit-starrer:
Hindi actress Isha Sherwani has been chosen to play opposite Ajit in “Billa”, the remake of Rajinikanth’s 1980 classic. It is to be directed by Vishnuvardhan. Ananda S. Suresh is producing the film. Ajit dons the role played by Rajinikanth in the original. The blockbuster which brought stardom to Rajinikanth featured two actresses - Praveena and Sripriya - in the lead.
Isha Servani has been chosen as one of the heroines to pair with Ajit. She has earlier acted in the Hindi film “Kisna”. The second heroine is still not been decided. Speculation was that Nayanthara, Trisha and Shreya were vying for a role played by Praveena or Sripriya in the original. There was also talk that Nayanthara might get the role played by Praveena.Expectations are high for Ajit-starrer “Billa” and the question being asked is whether Ajit will be able to match Rajinikanth’s charming performance in the original. The stage has been set to commence work on the 2007 version of the film. .

Her debut film Shhh was a dud at the box-office and all her efforts to gain some credibility were met by poor critical reviews. While she is rarely heard of for her acting skills, her on-off relationship with Uday Chopra has kept her in the public eye for a while now. However, it seems that both the actors have finally decided that their relationship is a done-deal and have let that boat sail.
A friend of the actress let the cat out of the bag and claims that Tanisha has in fact found a “soul mate” in the form of an NRI businessman from London. While little details are known about the mystery man, Tanisha is said to be crazy, madly, deeply in love with the industrialist. So much so that she spent the last month in London with her new beau.
On the other hand, brother-in-law Ajay Devgan proposed to re-launch Tanisha in a home-production but she flatly refused stating that “she is no longer keen to act”. Katrina Delivers Speech in perfect Hindi

Katrina Kaif was a bundle of nerves when faced with a crowd of 10,000 people.
From the start of her career in Bollywood, Katrina Kaif has often been referred to as an actress who’s hit fame through her beauty (than her talent) and by hitching her wagon to a superstar (read Akshay Kumar ). She recently got a chance to silence her critics.
The lady was put to the ultimate litmus test in acting by director Prakash Jha while shooting his film Rajniti in Bhopal.
She was given a long speech in chaste Hindi which she had to deliver in front of a huge crowd of 10,000 people. Now, Katrina, who still manages to speak only tooti footi Hinglish, was faced with the mammoth challenge of giving a long bhaashan in shudh Hindi and that too to thousands of people.
Jha, who helped Katrina train in Hindi diction, told a website that the actress was nervous and shaky before giving the shot. But she managed to pull it off.
“Katrina Kaif is such a revelation. She was so nervous giving a speech in front of 10,000 people. After she gave her speech I hugged her on stage and shouted out to the junta, Bhopal ka ticket de de kya?” Jha is quoted as saying.
The film has Katrina playing a woman who enters politics after her husband is assassinated by his rivals. The movie also has Ranbir Kapoor playing a Harvard educated NRI who is compelled by circumstances to take over the political dynasty of his family.
‘Rajniti’ stars a host of talented actors like Naseeruddin Shah , Nana Patekar , Manoj Bajpai and Arjun Rampal .
