Inspiration: Boy born without arms gives exam using toes; Scores 71% in SSC
Rajesh Laxman Pillay (17) has truly an inspiring tale to tell. The SSC student, who scored 71 per cent, wrote the exams with his toes, because he was born without arms.
Hailing from a village in Beed district, Rajesh was brought up by an elderly woman when his father expired and his mother deserted him.
With no one to look after, Rajesh landed on the streets of Mumbai and was lost in the crowd. Hungry and frustrated he resorted to begging on the streets. He took up the habit of smoking cigarettes and beedies with his toes, until he was rescued by an outreach worker from SUPPORT who convinced him of a better life with other children.
SUPPORT rehabilitation is a crucial intervention in the life of children addicted to drugs. After his detoxification, he was admitted to a Municipal school in Vakola, Santacruz along with other children.
The SUPPORT staff convinced him that if he could smoke beedis with his toes, he could surely write with it too. At SUPPORT centre he was provided all help and encouragement by the staff and other children to develop himself and become self-reliant.
With self-belief Rajesh managed to score 71 per cent in the SSC.

Just when we thought things were quiet with controversial item girl Rakhi Sawant, there’s a new scandal she’s being linked to.

Two criminals were recently arrested in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, and among the weapons recovered from them was an Italian pistol. Now the criminals claim that the pistol actually belongs to Rakhi, and they stole it from her in Mumbai. The case is being investigated by the UP police with help from the Mumbai Police, and Rakhi will soon be questioned by special teams.
For now, Rakhi denies owning the pistol in question, or any weapon for that matter. And in her usual style, she says that she doesn’t need a gun because she’s a gun herself!

Amitabh Bachchan, who joined Twitter some time ago, congratulated Shah Rukh Khan for having over 400,000 followers on the site.
"Congrats!! you crossed 400,000... meri gaadi thoda dheeli chal rahi hai (I'm at a slower pace at the moment)," the 67-year-old posted on his Twitter page.
Amitabh, who has become a regular on the site now, presently has 98,228 followers. While he writes on his Twitter page couple of times during the day, he also has a blog, a voice blog and a mobile blog.
As of now, he is following just five people on Twitter - Shah Rukh, son Abhishek, Sachin Tendulkar, Shammi Kapoor, and Suhel Seth.

Freida Pinto's spokesperson has rubbished reports about the 'Slumdog Millionaire' actress marrying her co-star Dev Patel.
Earlier, there were reports that the two were spotted enquiring about a wedding cake at a bakery and making arrangements to fly it to India for their forthcoming wedding.
"These rumours are complete rubbish and baseless. There is not even an ounce of truth in it," Divya Tejuja, Freida's spokesperson said.
The two met in 2008 on the sets of 'Slumdog Millionaire' and started dating some time later. But they kept their romance low-profile and didn’t appear in public together until late last year.
